NOOOO!!!! WHY DID THIS HAPPEN!!!

Posted by Gk

Soooooo....im trying to paint my MG ver. Ka Sinanju. sanding is done on almost all red parts. Im not sure how ill go about the black and gold parts. While i was taking apart the hands i had an accident, broke the small dividers that are in between the fingers of the right hand. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it, the broken piece is extremely small.

I don't own a Gunpla of Sinanju. My first idea would be to glue it back. The hand amour glued on to it for better strenth...

Or you could try and order a replacement? I think HLJ.com does things like that?

thats very bad,u can try use super glue or tamiya cement to reattach it,but since its sooo small the chances a quite slim!!if u have other spare hands from other kit u can use it wit a slight mod to attach the armour pieces[hope it can help u] (^___^)

You can't superglue those things. Well, you can..but you just can't move 'em anymore. You'll have to buy some manipulators to replace that...although I'm not sure which one. :\

Holy hell.. You must be applying extreme amounts of force for that kind of damage to happen.

You could place some pla-plate for support underneath then glue the pieces back together, then just sand the pla-plate off after everything hardens enough.

You could also reconstruct everything with putty and just sand off the excess (this is my preferred method for fixing anything that's beyond repair by gluing).

this has happened to me before. you can try plastic cement if you havent lost the broken off parts. or scratchbuild new ones though this will require a lot of finesse

i might be wrong, but mg sinanju hands seems similar with mg zaku ver 2.0 hand..

Yes it is indeed similar, having 2 movable joints per finger.. Well most of them

if you havent seperate the fingers yet then it can still be used but it be flimsy at best.

I've had a few similar problems before. Try using a thin wire to recreate that broken part. Then try inserting the wire by heating up the tip with the candle and punching it through the plastic. The plastic should melt upon contact. Or you can use the wire to act as a skeleton for the hand and the broken part, but that seems to be quite difficult. I guess you can do something along these lines.

Either way, you might have better chances of gluing almost everything solid, but then, the fingers won't be able to move anymore.

You can glue it back using Mr Cement or Mr Cement Economy (thin or fine layer of Mr Cement)or Tamiya Cement or Tamiya Extra Thin cement. These are all glues for plastics. Most plamo are fragile especially on joint parts. I always encountered this problems with all my Macross model, Gundam model and even nendoroids. I use Tamiya Extra Thin Cement to fix the problem. Let it dry at least 2 to 3 hrs. Once cure, you simply sand it. As for your condition, you may have to do it careful though, where your sinanju broken part is indeed very small. Another option I can think of is putty, but you'll be having difficulty sanding to its normal shape. Well, hope this works for you. Good luck.
