Alrighty~ Let’s continue where we left off~ Touhou 8 Imperishable Night

Touhou 8’s storyline starts of with your character exploring a forest path because your character senses that the moon has changed and what it looks to be a fake moon. There are 8 playable characters, in preset pairs, Yukari & Reimu, Sakuya & Remilia, Alice & Marisa and Youmu & Yuyuko.
You can play these characters individually later on. There are 6 stages in total, with 1st stage against Wriggle Nightbug, 2nd stage is Mystia Lorelei, 3rd stage Keine, then the 4th stage you either encounter Reimu or Marisa depending on the characters you are using, 5th stage you encounter Tewi (midboss) and Reisen as the stage boss.
After this battle, Reisen confuses the your character(s) and you have to choose the path, one leads to the fake moon, and the other leads to the real moon. The fake path leads to Eirin, and the real path leads to the real perp who created the fake moon, Kaguya.
Kaguya then challenges you to do five impossible requests. After defeating Kaguya, she gives you another task, which you have to defeat her greatest rival Mokou X3 This is the extra stage where Keine goes into demon form because of the full moon (midboss) and Mokou as the extra stage boss :/ Good luck fighting her! :/

Theres also quite a few tricks here in the game that I really love and make it more enjoyable than the other touhou games.
Firstly, there IS a time limit in this game. You have to beat the game before 5AM (in game time). Every stage you complete you get 1 hour on the time, but if you get enough time points, only half an hour (30 minutes) is added to the time for that stage.
Secondly, the time points is determined by the alignment meter on the bottom left of your screen. You must consistently be either focused or unfocused most of the time in order to get more time points. The more you are on your human form (unfocused) you’ll get time point by simply killing enemies (only). The more you are on your youkai counterpart (focused) the more time points you’ll gain by grazing (only). Also, bonus time points if you kill a familiar. If you accumulate enough time points in a stage as indicated by the right side of your screen (the one with a huge numbers) you’ll unlock a stage boss’s last spell card, which you can only do once, which in the case that you die during this stage, nothing happens but you’ll still get the 30 minutes for the stage time.
Thirdly, there is a last spell option, otherwise known as death bombing. When you get hit, there is a short 0.1-0.9second window (depending on character team selection) to activate a bomb to save yourself. This uses two bomb slots on yours if available; this last spell is only available if you have more than two bombs.
Lastly, my favourite, the last words. Last words are literally last spells. They combine the spell cards of touhou bosses of the previous two touhou games (up to 6) and they crank up the difficulty by x99999999999999999999999999^9999999999 =__= XD They take a while to know the pattern (some of them are random) and are annoying but fun to watch your reaction for the first time XD hahah Good luck! Now let’s get to some of the characters in touhou 8.

Characters

This is Lorelei, Mystia. She is implied to be a young youkai, whose abilities are confusion song and night blindness. She is a little night sparrow with an egocentric personality that enjoys confusing and putting terror into the hearts of humans who cross her path. She is said to live the human village that Keine protects. You can read more info about her here.

Fun Facts:
-The "Lorelei" part of her name most likely is a reference to a German poem about the siren Loreleii, which also had a mesmerizing song.
- In fan works, she is often seen with other lower level, childish characters such as Cirno, Rumia, and Wriggle, making up Team 9.

This is Houraisan, Kaguya, who was once a moon princess of the Lunarians, a race of people living on the moon. She is currently ageless but is known to be over 1300 years old. Her power is the manipulation of eternity and the moment (sounds like HAXXX right?) XD haha. She was exiled from the moon over a thousand years ago because she drank the hourai elixir which made her immortal, she was banished to earth and lived with humans.
Throughout her years in earth, many men went through journeys for her hand in marriage, but she demanded those 5 impossible requests, which were to get items from a specific place on earth. But, it was revealed in the end <SPOILER ALERT> of TH08, that she already had all these items in her passion </SPOILER ALERT X3 nyahahah). After years of exile, emissaries from the moon told her that kaguya had been forgiven of her crimes and asked to go back to the moon permanently but she refused and with the help of her friend Eirin, Kaguya escaped from the emissaries, fled to Gensokyo and took refuge in the manor now known as Eientei hidden deep in the secluded bamboo forest. Kaguya’s story is damnnn long but read more here :]

Fun facts:
- Mokou, who also drank the hourai elixir, which makes her immortal, she and Kaguya murder(yes literally murder) each other on a regular daily basis XD So, funny thing is, once one’s dead, they come back to life even more angry at each other, (taking turns dying) XD hahahah.
- Kaguya, and the whole of Imperishable Night, is inspired by the Japanese legend of the Moon Princess, also known as the The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, sometimes called the legend of "Kaguya-hime" (Princess Kaguya).

This is Yagokoro, Eirin, she is a Lunarian. It is said that her age rivals that of Yukari and Gensokyo, because she was instrumental to the establishment of the lunar capital. Her abilities are that she can create ALL types of medicine, and she has genius level intelligence~
Her occupation on earth is a pharmacist, which Margatroid, Alice is a recurring customer X3 and she makes Reisen, her apprentice, travel to the human village to sell her medicine. Eirin also has long ass storyline. I can’t really explain everything here >_< You can read more about her here.

Fun Facts:
- Eirin has a Spell Card named "Apollo 13" after the aborted third American moon mission launched in April 1970. The spell card's spell sign is "Curse of the Heavens", and seems to imply that it was Lunarian magic, not mechanical failure, that critically damaged the spacecraft and forced it to abandon its lunar landing so as to forestall the "invasion". It's also stated that the Lunarians know why the number 13 is cursed. Could Eirin have something to do with it?
- Eirin is often placed as doctor or nurse in fan works by obvious reasons.

This is Kamishirasawa, Keine, she is a school teacher of the human village and her age is unknown. Her abilities are: when in human form she can consume (hide) history and when in demon form she can create/change history.
Weird power right? 0-O In Imperishable Night, she hid the village’s history so that the village became invisible to any youkai wandering in the night. In the extra stage she defended Mokou because they are good friends and tried to stop the player fromm reaching Mokou.

Fun facts:
- Most of her spell cards are based on the history of the Emperor of Japan.
- As a teacher, she is commonly addressed by the respectful title of 「慧音先生」 or "Keine-sensei."

HOREYYYY SHETTTT. The piano just makes her theme really calming, and its really uplifting I'd say. Although the more I listen It just hits me that the owner of this theme happens to kick your ass x9999999999 times before beating her once :/

Ok i don't think I've mentioned this before but when it comes to Techno/Trance/Electronic arranges of ANY touhou stage/boss theme, no one does it better than Alstroemeria Record's Masayoshi Minoshima. He is just a genius at arranging beats and rhythms in a particular way that it just makes you wanna MOVE and DANCE :D or maybe crawl in a corner knowing that certain boss's theme KICKS ur ASS HARDD >__< D: haha :3

Anyways, next week, I don't know if I'll be able to make a post next week because I have final exams everyday next week D: *sigh*
