Figure maintenance halp?
My figure is in need of cleaning and leaning repair, but I'm pretty much stuck on what to do. I tried Google for the leaning problems, but I don't think they'd work. More details in the following photos

Did Kagami's cleaning abilities distract you? :D

This is the figure in question, my 1/6 scale Yuna figure. She's a second hand figure and my first figure purchase, which is why I wasn't really able to discern the problems that I have with her at first ><;

Sad to say, I think her previous owner didn't clean her too much because there is so much dirt stuck on her. I tried cleaning her using cotton buds + water, but there's still quite a lot of dirt remaining. I didn't want to attempt using other stuff as well as soap because I'm afraid of ruining the paint on the figure ><;
Any suggestions on how to remove stubborn dirt and stains from figures?

Another problem that I have is that Yuna's already leaning. This is the reason for the odd looking stand and the post-it she's stepping on. When I got her, her heels have drill holes in them and the stand has a metal rod for her to stand on. Supposedly that would work, but she's going off balance lately, which is why I put in the post-it. I would try doing the water method to reverse the leaning process, but the bad thing is that, Yuna's skirt can't be removed, So I don't think the water method is quite a good idea. I tried looking in Google for anything about this, but I came up with nothing. OTL
If you guys have any ideas, please tell me! Thank you very much! *bows*

for dirt, probably use a mild make up remover (ask ur mum or someone else) + cotton and rub it for quite a while, I tried using it and I do not see any paint transfering to the cotton bud. Though it takes more effort to make it completely clean of dirt
Tried nail polish remover (which is stronger) + cotton and I can see the cotton picking up some paint but it is very slight... the more the rubbing/pressure the more paint it will remove... so u just need to be careful and it will be okay, even with a nail polish remover.
Hm. You mean liquid make-up remover right? Drat. I only have cold cream. *notes self to buy that*
Thanks for the help! ^^
yea its liquid... but it may not work on very stubborn stains!... just try what u have at home first.. even cream! I usually experiment with different stuff at home ^^;
just be gentle in the beginning to see if it will danage the figure!
Thanks! Will try it out tomorrow morning and see if there will be progress ^^
I use Silicon sprayed on tissue or cotton buds.
Silicon. Hm. @_@; *doesn't know where to get those* I guess I'll try the makeup remover first ^^;
for severe problems of dirt and stain I use 50% alcohol and rub gently, and for the leaning, check this out http://www.dannychoo.com/post/en/884/Leaning+Figures.html hope I've help
thanks for the cleaning tip, I'll try that if the makeup remover thing doesn't work.
As for the leaning article, I've already seen that when I was looking for tutorials. Sadly, I couldn't attempt that because Yuna's long skirt can't be removed and doing the method would be futile since her legs are the ones that are bent. Thanks anyway!
I found that using a cotton bud dipped in listerine mouthwash worked surprisingly well against most marks i came across. The problem i had was rust marks left on the bow of a sailor uniform, where as the necklaces was hanging around the neck and touching the bow. I guess over the many weeks the necklace started to rust as well as leaving rusted stains on the bow. Listerine got about 85% of the marks off, where the rest were in too hard to reach places such as the inner groves and inner edges behind the bow. The listerine leaves a nice minty refreshing smell after the little maintenance session. :)
