By the sea
Well, sometime late last weekend, I found out that Atiyaah got stained slightly again... these things happen no matter what precautions I take =sigh= Anyways, she pestered me to take her out to the seaside before I wrapped her up like a transparent-clothed mummy with benzoyl to get the marks off. ^^;
Atiyaah: gaah, those last few steps were a real annoyance! Finding this seven-mile-long blue netting fence strung up all over, and trying to find a good break in it to walk through... >_<
Chichi: They put it in for Zoukout last Saturday. I think they probably want to keep it in for the year end parties.
Atiyaah: whatever for?
Chichi: people get drunk at these beachside parties, full moon or no. the netting probably keeps the dumber ones from getting Darwinned by drowning.
Atiyaah: It's still frakking annoying, even it's for a good reason. We spent, what, half an hour looking for a spot to sit down and watch the sea from!
Chichi: Aw look, at least we're here, okay? Kick back, take six, have a good soak and sunning. then I'll get some oxy10 on you when we get home.
Atiyaah: *bats eyelids coquettishly* Couldn't we do it here right on the beach?
Chichi: I said "oxy10", not "sunbathing lotion". And is there any sign here that says "nudist dollfie beach" here?
Atiyaah: Erm... No.
Chichi:Damned right there isn't. yeesh.
Atiyaah: Pretty quiet here today
Chichi: Weather forecast said it was going to rain like mad today. I think that kept the crowds away.
Atiyaah: ^^;> I dunno, is this really good timing on your part, or is this just dumb luck?
Chichi: I'd like to think dumb luck - it's the rainy season right now, so it could just as easily have been raining.
Atiyaah: Ahh... I just love the seaside. the briny scent of seawater, the wind whipping all through my hair and my clothes.
Chichi: *slaps his face, examines the results on his palm* The dying overfed pregnant mama mosquitoes...
Atiyaah whips her hat off...
Chichi eyes Atiyaah suspiciously.
Chichi: Nice dress. Or lack of one, I mean.
Atiyaah: No, not at... (blinks hard) I'll have you know this was a kickass dress when I saw it at Nightfallwalker's!
Chichi: Sure, sure.
Atiyaah suddenly gets down on the sand and starts disrobing, beginning with her dainty leathers and her stockings.
Chichi: Ai yai yai, I don't recall saying it was okay to go for a swim in that sort of outfit! O_o
Atiyaah: Says my godfather the uber-perv. Now shut up and help me get these things off the sand...
Chichi: You know, I swear that bikini is one or two sizes a bit too small for you.
Atiyaah: I got it from a bargain bin. Cheap at the price!
Chichi: well, if this gets us flagged as adult on the usual sites, I'm going to be too smug to say "I told you so!"
Atiyaah rolls her eyes.
Atiyaah: You're ALWAYS saying "I told you so" everytime I get into trouble, or we get into trouble.
Chichi: ... I haven't been smug enough previously, I guess.
Atiyaah: HA! xD
Atiyaah: do I look good, or does this beach make me look good?
Chichi: well, Volks made you look good too, so I guess I'll pick option C.
Atiyaah: pfft, you can't let a girl have her own dreams can you?
Chichi: Sure... says the daydreaming queen

I wasn't kidding when I said this bikini was a tad too small - it was originally sized for DD with medium or large busts - the bottom barely fit and the top wouldn't have fit if it wasn't done up with ties that had plenty of give.
Irrelevant fact: this particular ship has been berthed around here since Nov 20th (I checked their ship name with binos). - I wonder what the hell they're up to here...

Most of the time my dolliehs don't need a stand, but the pix I took of Namiko on a skateboard required the stand and I shopped the stand out in a couple of the pictures. It's a pain in the butt but it's worth it.
Duly noted. Anyone else? Might do just that when I get new clothes that expose the stand :(
Shouldnt rely on photoshop too much. It creates an un-realistic image to our daughters of what they should look like :P

hehe. If I wanted realistic, I would have waited a bit longer and gotten the next VMF50 after the current Sonico release from Yamato (assuming they go back to using acrylic/glass eyes instead of the painted-on ones.
Had to look that up as I didnt know the doll. Not to my taste i think ill stick to dollfie dreams. Though I could afford one if i wanted after my recent purchases. I opened my wallte to check just now and a moth flew out.
yeah. VMF50 actually based on much more modest Azone Obitsu 50cm 'dollfie-like' endoskeleton, but vinyl shell recrafted by Yamato to fit on skeleton AND look like athletic dancers - additional muscle toning, shaplier boobs than DDdy... and the feet have magnets that work when not wearing any shoes.
It also doesn't help that VMF50 wear tends to be jammed on 'slutty'. if someone made a doll stand for VMF with a magnet-friendly base that could be converted to a poledancing platform for it, I would be unsurprised.
How could I actually have LIKED this body form in the first place? The mind effing boggles.
Whats with the limit on replies? Dollfies can be slutty aswell. If one so desires Hmm pole dancing dollfie, Im sure that wouldn't freak my parents out. I re-think my purchases/wants/choices sometimes wonder what I was thinking.
On a side note:
I need to re-read what i type sometimes. My auto-piolet mode seems to be full of typos. I ment to say I could not afford anymore for a while. Though I am designing a new daughter at the momment. No idea when Ill be able to afford her. Still need to finish and cloth her sisters XP

And what will salt water do to vinyl? I'm sorry, but if there's one thing I've learnt, salt water is so horribly corrosive, I daren't take the risk of letting it near my dollfie for sure.
Maybe it if was a seamless silicone body and I had a pail of water ready to rinse it off asap afterwards.
Spray bottle with distilled water perhaps? Still havent tried that either

Well, great news:
1) There's at least one person who needs to choose between keeping his Miu and making payment on something even more expensive on figure.fm as well as the Flickr "Dollfie Dream" group.
2) Miu Amaha as off-the-shelf dollfies go, is not as popular as many previous ones - the previous lottery-only doll is now available for general purchase at at least Volks.jp, if not Volks.US as well.
If you love something really much, these things will work themselves out with a few dozen hours of work and a few meals of cheapo instant noodles.

Ah, I know as soon as I saw that I shot him an email. Errr they want her for about 619$USD plus she has some stains (I know it's fixable though) tried to negotiate but they wouldn't . T^T
A brand new Miu Amaha would cost about US$780 shipped from Japan. Dood's taking a loss on a Dollfie with damage that can be fixed with about US$20 worth of Remove-Zit or Oxy10 and a pound of patience. I think this is what they call "figuring out exactly how badly you want her."
FYI, Atiyaah also had the exact same issue as well as several other MA owners I spoke to, so this may be something common across any Miu you get.
Oh boy. I don't think anyone will ever know how much I want her. I think about her every 7 seconds, everyday when I wake up I get on my phone and search, "Miu Amaha dollfie dream adoption", she's my screensaver on my phone, I sent my mum (under 18 so I can't have a credit card) an email begging and asking anyway I could have her. She said if I save every penny she will order her.. But by the time I raise well over 700$.. She will be off the market and hard to get. I shot that miu guy an email and poured my heart out on how much I would love to have Mui. Heh... I'm a bit obsessed. >.<
Well, you're going to just have to show her exactly what you want, point out how it's not going to be around (most likely) in the timeframe you need to save up for her, and work out a hire purchase plan for with her (do more household chores for a long while, maybe?) . That's what I did with my parents (in between jobs, retraining for new career) halfway, met other half with proceeds from part-time work.
Trust me, having a Dollfie has a tendency to push out some rather bad habits. I don't eat as much, I don't drink as much, and I don't swear as much. I also tend to save more from my monthly study stipends, if only so I can commish the custom dress I'm designing right now.
There's also the riskier option that can be taken alongside this: your mom has her own collectibles as well right? dishes that never get used, only shown? stuffed toys she refuses to let other people touch or handle for long? Maybe some sculptures? If they're expensive enough, just nicely point out that this is all you want to accompany you as you study hard in college. Don't overly badger or pester, just say it's a rare collectible, just much cheaper.
(this doesn't commit you to having only Miu forever and ever, but it DOES mean that you will highly likely (to use the game term) use up most or all of your parental approval and might not be able to get anything you haven't saved up for later on unless it's for a genuine emergency. No, getting a Miu is not a emergency!)
it could backfire though - I know of at least one parent who got into dollfie collecting as well after his daughter showed him one of the early string-based DD1s.
And there's always the third option of letting it go and saving up for later releases. Lord knows "I really wanted her, but I couldn't afford her at all" is a common sob story amongst us Dollfie parents >_<
Well, she does know I want her. She doesnt care so much when I say, "wow isn't she pretty?" and well she doesn't really collect anything. Shes a lawyer so no time for that xD. But, I do get paid for chores.. So maybe by next Christmas I will... She'll be gone by then.. I really want Miu.. It's like she picked me it something O.o but my mom says, "by the time you save up all that money, you may not be interested in her anymore." which may be true... I'm so confused and wish I had a definate path somewhere.. Oh big question. Miu is for sale at Volks.jp the site is in English which is helpful but you pay in yen. Obviously that is not my currency... So what do I do bout that? xD
My heart goes out for you girl, I know this Dollfie is a real heart-stealer despite the apparent fact that she's turned out to be one of the slowest selling Dollfies on Volks in recent months.
As for paying, you may wish to consider using a proxy service such as http://jp-xpress.com/ that uses Paypal. Paypal may also be funded via bank transfers, surprisingly enough, in many districts and countries (but check with your local Paypal login to confirm.)
I wish I DID have the money to make you a interest free loan or something for a Miu but right now? Not happening with my finances.
I *am* buying tickets for a big bingo game of sorts today, so I tells ya what though - if I win enough to make the payment, I'll give ya a holler and you can save up to buy the Miu AFTER you get it (just this once - it's just a Christmas sort of mood I'm in, wouldn't normally be this softhearted even with Atiyaah on my shoulders) . Oh thank you anyways. :) It's the thought that counts, really. I'm really grateful to have someone else truly understand how much I want Miu. All the rest are probably thinking I'm insane or something, and are thinking, "save up like the rest of us do!" sadly I do not have a good paying job, I can't have a job because I'm not 16 yet o.O.. Plus I have to focus on school. Miu will just have to either wait a bunch of years of chores, or just be an impossible dream and I should leg her go. Ah I'm rambling.. Nice story and pics! I like her attitude XD She looks good in both the swimsuits but I prefer the one piece for obvious reasons since I own two DDdy girls and both of them also have sukumizus. I'd love to hit the beach with my girls sometime.... when it's warmer. :)
The lack of sun in the northern hemisphere kinda inspired me to do this shoot - I understand how painful it is to spend weeks waking in near darkness and arriving home in pitch black... even after clocking out on the dot.
Ha ha, you are correct! I hate getitng up and heading to work when its still dark and then getting home and it's dusk or worse already. No time for anything outdoors until the weekends.
But I am very close to a beach and I have relatives that live *on* the beach so I plan to go there sometime this spring and do a nice photoshoot.
I just remembered seeing that white outfit/dress at Jessicas site... it looks GREAT on her! Good purchase for you!
it looks great on DDs in general I'm sure. It probably clashes with SD, though, unfortunately, a bit lacking in 'regal' or 'stiff'.
