Being sold out and the site redirection aside, that's a crazy deal.
On a related note, any news on the BRS original version re-release ? Haven't seen anything on the Japanese blogs as of yet and she wasn't instantly sold out like last year's initial release. Quality concerns maybe ?

What the.... Now I feel so screwed for buying her for the regular price. I'm seriously starting to question why I bother to pre-order things these days. A few weeks after release they end up in the bargain bin anyway D:
Quite a few GSC/Max Factory products ended up in bargain bin mode now-a-days. It's either they sell out (like Dead Master's figma) or get discounted like Saber Excalibur.

lol sorry, i actually went on amiami last night and she was still normal priced, then refreshed again and saw the sale, so luckily i was one of the first to order it, an hour later she was still above 30 in stock and i went to sleep *shrug* after shipping will probably be around 11000yen
I'd still watch it just in case to see if it came back in stock. The 64% off sale of the BRS Nendoroid quickly went out of stock when it was first posted here on figure.fm, and then after a day or so the stock came back. Although the recent english/japanese site discrepancies with GSC products might make me think otherwise. Anyways, in spite of the QA hullabaloo, 2,000 for a GSC scale figure is a freakin' steal.

I saw this on their site last night. I was going to pick it up but it sold out within seconds of me hitting the order button. Its kool, I already have 1 and I wouldn't want to deal with the headache of receiving a broken BRS if I ordered another. Anyways I could use the money for other figures. Congrats to everyone who picked it up at this price.
As for being re-directed, you have to cross over to the Japanese site, it won't allow you to do it through the English site.
Even if I do go through the Japanese site, it still redirects me to the 'have a look picture' page. :/
overproduced just like k-on figma and nendo (minus ritsu nendo) :P
Not so much that, the quality control mainly. Original BRS sold out easily due to the amazing sculpt. This version however not so great. Plus the less-than-spectacular OVA killed the BRS hype.
The nendo was definitely overproduced though.
if they put ## in production/## total produce
like on some LE items, would be cool :P
they should balance better so that most people who wants one gets one while don't make too many, that people who pre-ordered and paid full price gets disappointed.....and when re-releasing, mark re-release on the package so there would still be value getting it the first time around
It's difficult to judge the market until release. Original Nendo and 1/8 scale Miku didn't sell much, until much later when the Vocaloid craze took off and when we started seeing the $100 a pop prices.
I'm assuming GSC got cozy thinking BRS would be the next big thing, and just produced as much as they could and marketed like hell without thinking about the consequences of such.
Re-releasing is an iffy thing though, it's either worse or better than the original and you'd force to deal the wrath of many collectors.
All I can say right now is FML. =__=
