Sakyosa's Room

Posted by Sakyosa [www]

I've finally gotten around to doing my room post! Only few things have changed since my last room post, mostly just the addition of more posters. I've had more time to get familiar with my camera too, so hopefully the pictures are a bit better. Anyway, on to the good stuff.

Sakyosa's Room

Upon walking into my room, this is what you will see.

Mouseover = load notes.
Sakyosa's Room

My two bookcases. I store all my figure parts in the tackle boxes on the table to the right.

Sakyosa's Room

Misc. figures.

Sakyosa's Room

Main shot of my room. Miku dakimakura. :D <3

Mouseover = load notes.
Sakyosa's Room

I collected Ramune bottles for awhile but now I've lost interest. I took them out in preparation to throw them away, but they've been sitting here for weeks now...

Mouseover = load notes.
Sakyosa's Room

My BRS Detolf. And that's a counterfeit Miku plushie that I ripped the clothes off of and put on my teddy bear instead. C:

Mouseover = load notes.
Sakyosa's Room

New wall of posters. I tore down that old stuff.

Mouseover = load notes.
Sakyosa's Room

Photo shoot waiting to happen. Usually all this stuff is stored away neatly in my closet, which is that door you see on the left.
And on the floor are two redjuice posters that I have no idea where to hang.

Mouseover = load notes.
Sakyosa's Room

The inside of my closet. I store all my figure boxes in here.

Mouseover = load notes.
Sakyosa's Room

My bed. <3 Favorite place in the entire house.
The poster above my bed gets switched out every now and then.

Mouseover = load notes.
Sakyosa's Room

Miku area. I love redjuice's art.

Sakyosa's Room

My workspace is in a different room of the house, the gaming room. This is what it usually looks like.
Changes since my last room post:
Switched out the acer monitor with a better hp monitor.
Got a new keyboard (haven't even peeled the plastic off yet!)
New Bamboo tablet.
Bought a K-ON! mousepad from Shadocon.

Mouseover = load notes.
Sakyosa's Room

I absolutely love that this hp monitor can rotate to portrait. Browsing figure.fm in portrait mode is fantastic. It's a shame it won't fit under the desk though. :'(

Mouseover = load notes.
Sakyosa's Room

Closer look. This game consumes just about all of my free time. ><; Anyone else here play osu? Here's my profile.

      You should! Photos turn out looking pretty great. Keep in mind you'll need quite a bit of light though.

        Sakyosa, that looks fantastic!

        I have a question. Is there a particular reason why you cover the back side, too. In fact, you put a black opaque surface aganst it. Do you see any benefits to opening that space up for backlighting?

        I think I can get some large boxes of your size to try your method out. And I think I can experiment. But I'd like to know yoru opinion, too. :)

          I wanted to have a black backdrop for my next shoot, so that's why I put it there. It's actually just a blouse of mine. I didn't have any other black cloth in the house. ^^;;

          Hmmm, well I'm thinking if you cut out the back side too, it might be hard for the box to maintain intact and upright because there wouldn't really be much structure left...
          And I think having a light source pointing in the direction of the camera lens might not be the best idea. Though I really have no idea since I haven't tried it.
          It's probably best to just leave the flaps there and cover it up with paper to use as a seamless backdrop. But of course you're welcome to experiment. :)

          Ah, keep in mind the smaller the box you use, the easier it is to light up nicely. My box might just be a wee bit too large, it's difficult to get the subject all lit up even with those three lamps you see there. >_< Or it might be just because they're not bright enough.

          Anyway, let me know how it goes. :)

        dyang, metrocon. I just have to be on the opposite side of the country (well, in terms of North-South), and last time I checked AnimeNEXT didn't have stuff on Miku this good. The dakimakura... sigh... lately my parents have been thinking worse and worse of anime merchandise, especially dakimakura, so I think it's gonna be hard for me to get it pass them, especially if I'm gonna use eBay. I've gotta find anotha seller. But still, thanks for telling me where you got them, much appreciated. :)
