SleepyD's Base of Operations

Posted by SleepyD [www]

Well, if I'm not too late, I'd might as well get in on this. Lots of stuff from Anime Expo, trading figs, and what not. :D And I still have poor figures in boxes still. Unfortunately, I'm running in stealth mode and trying to keep the parental figures from knowing how much I spend on these things. haha... So my room isn't as extravagant as many others. Not to mention I don't have a job (yet).

I'll be happy to answer any questions you all may have. Otherwise, enjoy~

And before I forget~

My little corner. Yep.

I use my laptop primarily to draw, since my old graphics tablet from Taiwan doesn't have drivers for anything beyond Win XP.

So, that poster there is from AX2010. Signed by Tomohiko Ishii, Kenji Kamiyama, and Satoru Nakamura.

coming around to the other corner, we pass by that old CRT with the Wii, PS3, and PS1. Also a bunch of old, old fansubs burned onto CDs.

Random toys over the years collected on top of the bookshelves, lots of books from kindergarten all the way to my senior year as an undergrad. Games and things on the left, and that's a mahjong set in the briefcase-looking thing down there.

Black Lagoon poster signed by Rei Hiroe~ and the otaku section of my bookcase.

Mostly trading figures here, but I have the full Mai HiME visual novel trading figs, and they look so awesome. Nishino Tsukasa over to the left is the very first figure that started it all. From a friend who gave it to me from little gashapon thing in Akiba. Little did he know what he started.

I have other larger figures, but they're still in bubble wrap, yearning to be free. Namely, Ryougi Shiki, BRS, and Momohime. ^^; I just need to figure out how to place them on that shelf... maybe move the little plane models somewhere...

haha, well, unfortunately, I'm a horrible liar. And even if it somehow passes, they tend to end up suspicious of me anyway. More because they're usually the ones that find the package in front of the door. Not to mention that they know that shipping from Japan is by itself expensive already. ^^; I live in a family of penny-pinchers. haha XD

Try looking at the US based sellers, like toylet or on amazon, if you kept getting amazon packages they'd never know anything.
        Or erase their memory
how I don't know, I gave you the idea, least you can do is figure out how.. god you just want everything handed to you.

When even just packages arrive, that's an odd thing in this house. Well, except for maybe textbooks near the beginning of a semester. Not to mention it's hard to explain away packages twice as big as anything else that's ever arrived here. BRS, i'm looking at you haha.

So believe me, I've been trying to figure out how for a while now. But... not anymore tho. Since I've now graduated and am patient enough to wait, I'm content to continue looking for a job, get one, move out, and then do what I like.

Most people say that at my age, I should have some modicum of independence and privacy. I agree, but I'm a rather non-confrontational person, and trying to convince my parents will cause more trouble than its worth, especially at this point of my life. They're good people. just a... little (okay, very) conservative about things.

For now I'm living under their roof, so until I live on my own (hopefully sometime soon), I will follow their wishes and keep my otaku spending low-key.

Well that ended up longer than expected. Sorry for spilling my life story at you.

            That's why I don't buy BRS..
Not really I'm just not a fan.
But good luck getting a job and moving out. I have a job and am going to school and can't even afford living at home.
What "age" is it you think you should be moving out, I know people getting close to their 30s still living at home, then again I know people who are 25 living on their own. It's tough now to move out, and we have an expensive hobby so that can make it hard too
I guess I got lucky, my dad just asks "what's in the box" and I go "stuff" and he replies "those naughty statues, again"
I lived in ignorant bliss on how much things cost until I got my drivers license and now I take care of the family. Food, insurance, house, etc. mad expensive.
Boy I was running out of things to say at the end there.. Well I hope it's almost as long as yours, make you read as much as I did.
