Anybody else with a large backlog?

With the new year here I took a look at my backlog of DS games and noticed much larger it has become so I got to wondering if anybody else here has a large backlog as well? The reason mine got so big is that I'm the type that normally only gets halfway through a game if that and then I get bored and move on to the next game. First picture is one of games that I finished while second picture is my backlog.

I only have 5 lol, i dont play DS anymore thats whyy. heh heh
These are only my DS games. I still have plenty of games from PS1-3, PSP, GBC/GBA, and Gamecube/Wii games that I never finished...
Man, I love AA games *-*
Likewise! When I heard that they are making an AA vs Layton game I rented Curious Village and plowed through it. Still need to play the next two Layton ones but I'm in no hurry since who knows how long it will take for it get localized here.
When I heard about the crossover I spazzed and screamed to my sister "THEYREGONNAMAKEAPROFLAYTONANDACEATTORNEYCROSSOVERRRR"
I'm a huge fan of both series ^-^
lol I don't play games :P
Aren't you at least playing K-ON! on PSP? That one I actually finished during my breaks between college classes.
yeah, I did play that a little bit, but think it's tad too easy :P
I actually bought a psp just to play that game haha xD
Oh god, my "pile of shame" is also quite large. I'm pretty sure some a few are still shrink wrapped -_-;
No matter what, I always end up opening up my games even if I know I won't play them right away. When I pick up a new game, I'd open it and try it out for a few minutes at least to make sure it works, and if it peaks my interest I'll play it and if not it goes to the pile.
Pile up is bad must go into God of Conquest mode!! :P lol
If most of these weren't RPGs, I'd do that.
I totally do something similar like you do, only difference is that I get bored near the end of games. I'm getting better though.
As for my backlog, it spans, consoles, handhelds, at least 3 generations, and probably a couple hundred games. I just buy too many games.
By the way I totally love your taste in games.
Yea, for me with RPGs I tend to get into them and later in the game when I have to start grinding a lot is where I get bored and put the game down and later when I want to go back I feel like I forgot what the game was about and lose even more interest by possibly starting over at the beginning.
Atlus. ( ゚ヮ゚) b
and Natsume!
Got 12 or so sitting in a pile waiting to be finished, and I just keep buying more whenever they are on sale.
Yea, I got some Amazon GCs last month and went crazy with some of their sales.
I'm finishing up Spirit Tracks right now (just the final boss left), but I still have three other games I haven't even touched yet: Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Dragon Quest IX and Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. And someone's going to give me Professor Layton and the Lost Future as a late Christmas present too...
In my case, I really try not to start a new game until I've finished up the current one. But my cycle goes like this: I start a game, I'm hooked for a week, I get bored and drop it for two months, I pick it up again and finish it, I start another game xD
I'll pick up Golden Sun if I can get it at like $20 since I still have the two GBA games in a box somewhere.
Me too, I used to love those games! I was so happy when I read they were making a sequel for DS. I just realized I'll probably have to clean my backlog to prepare for 3DS and there are still games for DS coming out this year that I'd like: Kingdom Hearts re:Coded, Okamiden, Dragon Quest VI and a new Layton... Lucky for me DS is the only system I have ^^;
I've resisted buying so many games but I think I now have games for three systems that I haven't even opened! There's so many games and it's hard to make time for them.
I prefer portable gaming now since I can at least do some of that while waiting between some classes at college but it's tough for me to sit at home and play my consoles.
hehe im the same sometimes, I just end up playing it through half way then just leaves it... then I end up just buying a game just to put on my shelf :p
I fully understand. It seems like I'm more of a collector then a gamer these days.
Don't play games long time already lo....
I already dropped some genres/series already myself and my list of games I want just get smaller and smaller.
Got anything up to about 20 games to finish. Got about 5 I've not even played yet.
I envy ya. In total I must have over 150 games left unfinished.
Wow...I don't know what to say. Part of me what's too say 'Well done' but the other want's to say 'damn...'.
So I'll go with, good times!? :P
Well for the last 12 years or so, I go from my gamer mode to my anime mode where I buy merchandise from. Used to be all about games for me until like 2007 where I switched to figures and games were put on the back burner.
Nowhere in England has this in stock T_T sigh i would like to be it very cheap and preowned but still quite pricey online v.v
I see it on ebay for like $10 but not sure how much shipping would be to England.
usually quite a lot :(
There are a ton of games I've started and haven't finished. So my backlog is pretty big. But only counting games that I haven't started, there are about 27. Back in 09, Best Buy, Walmart and Toys R Us had some pretty good sales and I bought quite a few and my friends also got me a few as Christmas gifts.
06 and 07 were great years for me at Toys R Us to pick up plenty of clearance games but that was when I was in Florida. Here in Cali, it's tough for find them in stock.
I have so many and I keep buying more. I must have bought over 30 games this past Steam Xmas sale. I think I enjoy buying them instead of playing them now.
I don't do any PC gaming since I'm on a old laptop but I like the Sims and I played a little WOW but quit. Is your username a reference to Blazblue?
No, it's a magic spell from an anime.
i have a large backlog too, i just got to busy with school and work T.T i hope i can catch up one day soon.
That's what I told myself about Final Fantasy X back in 2002 and here I am now... Maybe when I retire I'll get around to finishing that game.
lol its hard not getting to do the stuff you want to do.
I've never had a backlog ^^; I've never really had that much extra money to spend, so buying new games is quite a slow thing for me, despite being a huge gamer.
Ah, that's the way to go. When I worked at an electronics store, I got decent discounts on games and we had decent sales so I still ended up buying them even if I knew it will take a long time for me to get around to playing them.
Im beyond backlogged at this point @_@. Every time I catch up one one game, 4 more have come out and are sitting on my shelf ^^" It doesn't help when games come with preorder bonus items. Im a bit of a sucker for collecting those (not the in game ones, the cool stuff like the Sonic Colors hat and the Scriblenaught headphones). Then on top of those are the must have titles. Then the ones I collect (like all the Harvest Moon titles..how many farms do I need?!?) Then there are the "important games" like Mass Effect 2. Then theres backlogging for systems I didn't have before (I just recently finished my collecting all the game systems since the Atari, finally breaking down and buying an Xbox 360). Then after all that...Ill need a game to relax from some tough games like Super Meat Boy (game is hard) so Ill get a game like Kirbys Epic Yarn (game is easy and fully of happy).
I also work with video games, so I try to keep up to date with it all lol. Phew.
The worst part of it all, with all the new games...for new years I beat Castlevainia: SOTN ...a game Iv beaten a dozen times before >.>
The last game I was excited for was Mass Effect 2. I don't even own a 360 so I borrowed one from a friend, bought the game at a midnight launch, and then played through 3 times in pretty much 3 days straight. First round, my crew died. Second round, crew survived but Ashley was love interest from ME1 so I didn't want that so third round was me playing through ME1 with no love interests and then hooking up with Tali in ME2 for my true save for ME3. Problem now is that my friend took back his 360 and I didn't get a chance to save that data so I'll have to do it all over again when ME3 comes out.
Yea, I love Harvest Moon and almost have all of them. Just missing SNES and 64 versions now but I tend to quit on those games after I get married since like in real life, having kids isn't interesting to me.
Only 2 games I have out of all lol
I have the same problem too and i still have about 50 games to finish but almost all of them are some kind of RPG which usually takes a while to get into sometimes. I usually finish my games that can be beat in 10 or less hours first then save the longer games for later but sadly im at that point where most of my games are 30+ hours....
