Backlit Couch Table

Posted by Eefi [www]

Using the Christmas holidays (whatever little time there is..) to tackle our selfmade couch table which is designed as a light table for tracing sketches and whatever you can think of ;)
I was curious how figures placed on it look like and it's impressive xD Here are some sample photos for you~ (Although it looks better in real life I assure you!)

See our blog for more photos! http://blog.kanojo.de

Regarding the glass figure display case that I asked about two post earlier, we also made that one! If anyone's interested, see here http://blog.kanojo.de/2010/10/04/custom-modelkit-display-part-2/

Tea is also being nicely displayed on the table. Comes with a matching Reimu ;D

Wow, very cool. I would've loved something like this when I was still shooting film full-time, it would've been great for looking at slides.

One idea. Do you have the facilities to cut and bend sheet metal of any sort? I'm thinking if you put some V-shaped silver (or even white might work, depending on how powerful the LEDs are) metal under the light arrays, and pointed the arrays down into them, you'd get a very soft and even light. Actually, you could probably try testing it with just some silver or white cardboard to see how it'd work.

Lovely backlit table. Your teacup is very interesting. It makes it look like the liquid is floating!
