My first post! --LOOT--

Posted by crabdude [www]

Hey everybody!

This is my first post, decided to wait until I got back from my summer in San Francisco, and then got bogged down with work. Anyway, here goes! My prizes that I "won" this summer!
(By the way, sorry in advance for the bad quality. The light is pretty bad in my room and my camera is not the best ^^;)

And yes, an Azumanga Daioh Poster! Our dorm room was looking really boring compared to the others so I thought I'd liven it up a little bit with the poster (^_^)

I also managed to pick up my first Nendoroid! More about that later on as well as pictures!

We visited a couple of anime stores in JapanTown, Japantown Collectibles, JPNToys, and Japan Videos. There's also a big Kinokuniya with the whole lower floor dedicated to manga, which just happened to be where I picked mine up! All of these stores are conveniently located in the Japan Center, which is just a big mall with many Japanese stores and restaurants (where we got a great lunch as well). I also ordered some online from a wonderful website called rightstuf.com, which has some great deals if you look hard enough!

Just a quick shot of the peace pagoda outside the mall.

And as we were wandering around San Francisco, we also happened to stumble apon the Ubisoft San Francisco branch offices! What a bonus!

I'll go with the less obvious comment and simply say : Vagabond is awesome and more people should read it.

That reminds me of the fact I am in desperate need of a vacation. I made a short trip to Little Tokyo myself, but that is a mini trip for me.

    Anywho... Nice loot. ^^

I <3 Kinokuniya. I'm making it a point to go there every time I'm in Seattle. I also have a friend that works at the SF Ubisoft offices... Nice to see what it looks like. :)

OMGAH I was in front of that thing just a few weeks ago!!! It was in Japantown, right? I'm in Jersey, and we have no such thing as Japan town, only China town, so I was all excited about getting some amazing anime and manga goods, but there was only a Japanese bookstore that we already have here in NYC and a bunch of restaurants ;-; Unless I missed something?

It took some detective work to find some of the stores, but they were in a kind of area off to the side from the main areas, never seen Kinokuniya outside of Singapore, so I was really excited!

I went there a few weeks ago with my friends. As opposed to you getting your first Nendoroid, I got got my first Figma there. I bought a wall scroll also, but it's a Shakugan no Shana one. I also bought vol. 1 & 2 of Haruhi's manga but mine is in Japanese (I can't stand the names being backward, I didn't even bother going to the English side).

I plan to go again around Winter break and New Year (I wonder if they are going to have a festival...).

      Lucky you live so close!
I only spent my summer there, but it's a great place!

I live right across the Bay from San Francisco in Alameda. Despite being so close, that time was the first time in 3 years and my 3rd visit there in a total of 9 years living in the Bay Area. I plan to go more often from now on, during breaks and stuff.
