Making Sesame Seed Balls

I made some sesame seed balls for the first time today. Sesame seed balls are a Chinese sweet that I really enjoy having when I go to eat at a Chinese buffet. Since I like them so much I decided to try and make some. They are actually pretty easy to make, although I did over cook one batch a little bit. I got the recipe from About.com and the ingredients from a local Asian market.
You can see photos I took of the process of making them at my blog
I also tried my hand at making Miso Soup last week. I got the recipe for it from The Manga Cookbook that I bought a few weeks ago.

Is the manga cookbook any good? Have good instructions? I've considered getting it, but I tend to steer away from those guide-type manga.
It's ok. It's got simple recipes like onigiri, and then some really difficult ones like making Udon noodles from scratch. I've only made Miso Soup, and Tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet) from the recipes in it so far. Both are pretty simple. The Tonkatsu is just pork tenderloin coated with flour, egg, and panko bread crumbs, and the Miso soup is just dashi, miso paste, tofu and green onions.
eeee! we call them buchi here in the PH and I LOOOOOVE them!
I crave for buchi now
in my place we have a different type of sesame seed balls. they are made only of sesame seeds and sugary syrup. If made well they are soft, but if the amount of sugar is too much then they become as hard as a rock.
Oh god I love these, I buy em at the local asian markets :3
