1/20 Votoms Brutishdog (WIP)

Posted by WIldbee

Hi guys, this is my first post here :)

Just wanna share my wip on 1/20 Votoms Brutishdog.
I don't paint this kit in terms of usual procedure as priming, basecoating, etc.
Just add weathering effects directly to the bare plastic of this kit.
My primary tools are toothpicks and several brushes.
Toothpicks used in making rusty and oil leaks effect (brown ink is applied here), then i drybrush using enamel tamiya silver, and finally make a dusty effect using some brown powder (which actually is the unused and left over facial cosmetic powder, hehe).
What do you think guys? Give some CnC. Thx for viewing :)

I don't think a flat coat will hurt anything as far as looks go. If you need anything to have a gloss look, you can always brush it on or mask those areas before the dull coat. Looks real good, like it's been in service for quite a while.....

That looks fantastic! I think you did a great job.

The one suggestion I'd give is to work on weathering the internal frame first. All of your outer armor looks great but some internal parts (like what looks like the knee joint) looks too clean in comparison. I've weathered only to find that I missed pieces on the frame and the only way to properly get to them is to disassemble the piece.
