Haruhi Suzumiya Kouyou Academy ver. figma

Posted by Freyaamane [www]

Hello guys! Your probably sick of seeing the Haruhi already xD but i have some comments to make xD (and an exam tomorrow that i want to avoid thinking about)
Once i watched the movie (which btw was absolutely epic) i just had to get her xD the long hair is just to good to miss (and im not a huge Haruhi fan in fact), but as much as i love her, and the design there is a lot of things that i cant quite like~
First of all the stand, i only have 2 other figma's so im not sure if this is normal or not, but why is the hole for the stand in her back not in the hair? with those long hair it rly get in the way and limits her movement. not to mention the hole was to small so i was forced to file dow the stand insert a bit to get it in @_@
Also im not a fan of the sleeping bag accessory, like what the heck? i loved that scene in the movie (almost dies laughing in fact xD), but i find it so unnecessary (maybe because im not much of an action figure person, i like to display them not play with them and recreate scenes), i'd prefer more epic faces, not a Yuki face (which i dont have T_T)
i think thats all the complains xD but except for that i think she's lovely and dont regret buying her at all ^___^
enjoy the photos~

also please feel free to comment on my photo skills (or their absence) as well ^^ im pretty nervouse about adding figure photos for the first time xD

its nice that u can exchange it and use her short hair as well ^^ thought it rly restricts the head movement...

yeah i dont know how u guys take photos without a stand xD had to make her lean on it, since the hair made it impossible to take the position with the stand in ><"

I think Freyaamane used the closed eyes face on the the earlier Haruhi figma with the short hair.

Actually, Koyouen Gakuen Haruhi comes with a short-hair figma head. I wish she would've come with a ponytail head instead ><

With regards to the figma hole, most figmas that have long hair will come with an extra stand hole in their hair, but figmas with shallow hair pieces like Kouyouen Gakuen Haruhi or Mio will come with the stand extension piece (it's the white piece that came in the bag with the bonus hands) instead. This is obviously because drilling a stand hole in the hair will drill right through it and ruin the 'look and feel' of the character. You'll notice that the figmas with the hole in the hair also come with a piece to cover the hole when not in use.

aah, i see, makes sense i guess~! thanks for explaining that ^^
the only long haired figma i have is WF Konata, but the hole is a bit higher so it goes through where the hair is thicker on the head...

With regards to your concern about posing with the stand, you don't necessarily have to use the stand to display the figure if you're good at posing while keeping the figure's center of gravity between their feet. All of the figmas I have displayed on my desk are standless, even though I have countless (read: 6) di:stages and figma stands to use for them.

That being said, if you have no other option but to use the stand, I recommend you use the adapter I mentioned above. Of course, you'll want to remove the head to apply the adapter to the back hole, then plug the stand into the adapter hole. You then have more freedom with posing, since the stand arm won't be in the way of her hair, but under it instead. Good luck and happy posing!
