"Hello, this is Jessica of Nightfallwalker Studios. I'm currently busy with something else at the moment, and can't answer the phone right now. Please leave a message after the cute bear squeals and I'll get back to you shortly."
(cute bear squeals.wav)
"Uh, right. Hello there, this is Atiyaah. Listen, the clothes I ordered from you last week just arrived. They look GORGEOUS! My lil' kid sister was all giddy and my dad... well, I'll tell you - he had another 'inexplicable' nosebleed again. Anyways, hope to see more cool stuff from ya. Thanks again! You know where to email me to catch up in future, okay? Bye-bye!"

Momentary transformation of Atiyaah into a seagull from "Finding Nemo"
Atiyaah: "Not yours! Mine! Minemineminemineminemine!"
Almariel: "Don't care. those clothes make me look fat. you can have them all."

Atiyaah: Let's see what's in the delivery...
Almariel: Is there a pony!? Is there a pony!?
Atiyaah: ... ... Jessica isn't in the manure business you know.

Proof of Nightfallwalker authenticity: My fake NFW clothes can't possibly come with a seal this cute :D Also: bears.

Not very noticeable proof of quality - The skirt and suspenders are shocking black... but there's a white layer on everything except the straps (which are meant to be worn with a certain blouse. AWESOME, JESSICA. :D

(Due to the presence of a clearly underaged Pure Neemo on this shoot, this is as much skin as you'll get for this pictoral)

Cross-promo note from Almariel Chi-chi: if you're interested, Week 2 of the McDonalds minature food toys promo just started (as of the date of this article's publishing). These are the very first ones sold in Singapore - I was at the counter just as the King Albert HQ guys pushed out the change over across Singapore and got them at about 12:00:15am (Technically, my late night Samurai Burger meal came about five minutes later, but details details) If you're not in Singapore, Gordon has an offer you can't refuse (especially if you like your 50-70cm Doll eating international junk food :D)
Also: the phone is a genuine fake China Telecom ladies' model. The glasses are (not) from Evangelion 2.0.

Misadventures In (Pro) Portion Control!
Atiyaah: This coffee is so big!
Almariel: This filet-o-fish is so small!
Almariel Chichi: Your legs are sooo long!
Atiyaah: O_o... o_O... >.< You are so dead, daddy.

(Pic edited to remove identifying marks, Almariel Chichi's pet Overgoat, and the bloodstains from when he asked Atiyaah to help him get something off the table for him...)

She looks so adorable >.<
Everyone says that when they meet Almariel. With Atiyaah, it's more often. "Her boobs. Are. HUUGE."
So who says flat-chested girls can't catch a break?
Two girls shot is very cute ♥♥♬♪
The only thing cuter than two girls shot, is three girls shot. and the only thing cooler than three girls shot, is Three Wolf Moon.
I like telephone message so much XD as I didn't recorded anything for my message box :P...
next time buy Almariel some new clothes to make her happy :D
[bring back photos for guest gallery now]
yes, plz do. That was partly the point xD
Also: congrats on managing what I thought would cost over $500 to do - make a Signature Outfit for a Dollfie, "a outfit a parent would want their Dollfie to be caught at their very best in".
The shoes aren't from you, it has to be admitted, but I think the changes I wound up making to get to this point cost only $200. Amazing. It helped that the skirt had white lining or white blouse under it where it would have contacted my daughter.
From some angles, Atiyaah DOES look like a greedy seagull.
Just not this oneofo ioo;ang794bw-=gggggggggg
I'm alright, I'm alright... But I had to replace my keyboard after all that bashing that was done to the last one using my head. Thank god for multiple redundancies!
In hindsight, I may have said the stupid thing I said because these were unusually short socks.
^^ International phone call to Jessica...
More dollfies should call the tailors they really like >:D
Really cute. Thanks.
Very nice clothing you got for your daughter! She looks very nice in that outfit. Jessica makes such nice things!
And your mini girl is adorable! I like her attitude... and she is like my Manami. She wants cookies all the time where your girl seems to want ponies! XD
Cool effects in the pics, nice job!
ohhh such good clothes for a great girl. ;)
Chichi, may i ask you ? Which one that cheaper: alice 88th store or BJD's store around KKnM ? Thx.. ^^
it's like comparing apples and oranges - and btw, the only BJD stuff going on at Sunshine Plaza? only KKnM's ShowsDoll display. Everything else is either not BJD specific or not usable by BJDs at all. Let me walk you through what I understand of both areas:
Sunshime Plaza ---
some of the clothes currently at KKnM are meant for Azone Obitsu 60cm rather than DD and may not fit larger busted DDs. There may also be at least one of the showsDoll "90 for 50" DD/DDdy stand kits I reviewed previously last month. Anything else you find will probably be Luts, MSD/MDD or PureNeemo-related (including some recent vintage ltd editions).
The doll display is only a small portion of the store and is only accessible if the main tenants of KKnM are around on the day you visit (the owner of the anime video store that shares the premises is not allowed to access the ShowsDoll display :( ), so I might suggest calling them in advance, or twittering them (@kk_nm) or Facebooking (http://www.facebook.com/pages/KKNM/191168059247) to see if they'll be in. :( As a consolation, they also stock lots of COSPA, figma, figurines and also take pre-orders occasionally for very special items, so check their webpage to see if something else MIGHT interest you: www.theanimehouse.com
Otherwise, as earlier mentioned, very little here that may interest a BJD fan, though there is significant niche shops in the location of possible interest, such as a tailoring service that converts pictures of reasonable quality supplied into BJD clothes, a film photography hobbyist shoppe, a gunpla shop (stocks select simple electronics, plus Mr Super UVcut in various shinies - you want 'matte' for faceup/ low-profile face protection, not any sort of 'shiny'), and one of the laundries has a lady who does awesome small-scale fake foods (usually for charity - she will not be around usually on the first and last weekends of each month, selling at a monthly weekend handicraft for charity fair at Vivo City instead), plus several low-volume printer shops that may be able to supply you with prints in low volume for certain things like non-heat-based permanent transfers (possibly for body tattoos for example)
Bali Lane (Alice 88th only) ---
Alice offers full BJDs from at least three major Chinese BJD companies (no Japanese BJD companies afaik), and has certification from Angel of Dream @ http://aoddoll.net as a genuine and authorised dealer, contrary to some unfair and unfounded rumors that she sells counterfeits on several forums I refuse to name due to their inability to discern fact from fiction formed from apparent observation. Budget up to about SGD900 per doll, including normal amounts of punk/fantasy wear.
She also maintains a small selection of non-anime doll eyes (unless you count empty eyes) in glass/acrylics in select colors, sizes and designs. There is also a limited range of doll-scale leather punk gear, as well as shoes of select colors and sizes/designs.
And if you need to cosplay while in Singapore, she does costume (optimised for Singaporean/Asian physiques) , hat and wig rentals/sales (and she knows how to do this well and to the customer's benefit, maybe a bit too much of both - I have had hints of her lifestyle after hours, and it is violently clear that this is not a business that has her swimming in money. Mopping up a small puddle of it, more like! x( )
Due to the #$*^ing cost of running a major CC terminal these days absolutely anywhere that isn't rolling in the dough, Alice can only accept payment in NETS (the SG-only electronic transaction standard) or cold hard SGD (though if the items being purchased are expensive enough you may be able to settle via CC with Paypal, but I cannot guarantee this!)
As a bonus, I heard rumors that for loyal customers, Alice may have some extra... goodies. One way of becoming a non-welcome customer though is to badger her about these rumors though, the same birdie went, so I am not going to break my good relationship with her by pestering her about these rumors. I guess it's just a matter of popping in and being nice to her at least on a regular basis. (And before you ask, yes, she reads my figure.fm posts whenever I leave the links on her laptop, so I'm hoping even mentioning this rumor itself does not get me into the same amount of trouble, if at all)
Aside from that, there is absolutely bugger all in the way of purely BJD stuff in Bali lane, though digging in deeper in the neighbourhood may net you an exotic variety of choices in terms of fabrics - ideal if you're bored of simple standard fabrics as a tailor of any sort. Also: enough "not-big-Coffee" cafes to make independent cafe fans like my Atiyaah quiver on the street if I wasn't supporting her - and that's even before the caffeine intake xD
Also failed to mention: the neighbourhood that Bali Lane (where alice 88th works) is on the border of is actually also a hothouse for independent SG food, fashion design, music and coffee. Be prepared to have your wallet reamed out even though most of these folks are trying to make a profit while still being reasonably priced.
The Overgoat - I'm actually surprised nobody raised the question of my other great weakness/money/timesink. The Overgoat knows this (doesn't he see everything =sigh=) and... I'm not sure at all how he feels about this (Hey, he's an overgoat, not me) - he's always had the same piercing glare thing going on down.
Last question dear chichi, you must know about domuya in singapore, right? Did domuya still have store in 30 merchant rd ? Sorry for bothering you over and over again..
Btw, nice photoshoot! :D
Domuya elected to shut down their operations in Singapore totally and move over to Hongkong. Apparently, between local philistines who couldn't appreciate BJDs properly and landlords taking too much advantage and squeezing the Clarke Quay area to death, they couldn't stand it anymore. And who can blame them? x( These days, anyone who does BJD stuff in Singapore does it as a sideline. Forget bread and butter, you couldn't even afford butter doing just BJD stuff - the last CQ holdout that did purely BJDs shuttered in May at nearby Liang court.
Well, nice information chichi... I'm really glad to talk person like you.. I think i should cancel domuya as one of my destination in SG.. Based on your last comment, maybe i should ask you something, is there any BJD shop in Clarke Quay area other than domuya ? What is Bread and Butter? Is that bjd's shop in clarke quay area? Based on my knowledge, bread and butter is a kind of clothing store... CMIIW... :)
*facepalm* Well, erm... by "bread and butter" I meant "making a living". And frankly, there's no more shops in CQ for BJD anything anymore (although there's a small training center in Liang Court that specialises in Japanese clay crafting, but that's not something you'll have time for)
Adorable!^^
