Which Joker was the best?

Posted by OtakuPantsu

I've been a huge Batman fan most of my life, and this question sprung up with my brothers. What Joker is the best? Well we have the Joker from the films, who was pretty damn awsome.

Next, the cartoon Joker. He is my husband, I love him very much. Not as much as Arkham, but they're voiced by the same people, but heh, he was the best in my opinion.

Next, Dark knight joker. He was the second best really, but to be honest, Joker was much more crazy and wild than the portrayal of him, but I suppose that's the direction the film wanted?

And last but definatly not least, My husband! Arkham Joker. In my opinion, most sexy, crazy, fun, and down right evil Joker. He was voiced by Mark Hamill, who did the cartoons as well. If you excuse me, i'll be in my bunk. (Cookies for whoever can get who that line's from XD)

Also the only version of the Joker to have a painted-over mustache.

First, Dark Knight's Joker. Anarchy, nihilism, chaos...Do you recognize my...occupation?And taking into account the Nolan trilogy is based firstly in realism, the creation by Heath Ledger is just awesome, from his gestures til his voice.

Second, yep, it would be Arkham Joker. Can't wait for Arkham City...

Mark hammil in my opinion is THE joker voice, everytime I read a comic with joker, I hear his voice. so BTAS Joker is my choice. Arkham joker is really close to this one
and I loved jack as the joker as well,"does it look like I'm joking?" and "where does he get those wonderful toys?" classic lines!
and of course heath's joker was epic!

The hard part about claiming any one as "best" is that they are each such different approaches to the character. If one were to ask "which cartoon Joker is best" or "which game Joker" or the like, it would not make it much easier, though. Now *favorite* ones, that can be answered easily... unless one is familiar with too many variations and just can't choose. (-ω-)>

Phaeton makes a good point. The same could be said about "Best Batman". There have been a number of different takes on Batman, as well. I'll get back to that, though. I can't really say which Joker is best, though my favorite ones are Heath Ledger and Mark Hamill. As far as i'm concerned Mark Hammil is THE Joker when it comes to animated movies/shows. When I was watching Batman: Under the Red Hood, hearing the Joker talke in that just didn't "feel" right since he wasn't voiced by Hamill. The same thing goes for Kevin Conroy as Batman, he is THE voice for animated Batman movies/shows. Though, of the live action Batman movies, I think Christian Bale and Michael Keaton have done the best job, so far. Though, I really do like Adam West's Batman, too.
