Home office

Unfortunately the only cute girl on my desk is Mirai-chan working on her MacBook. Maybe someday I will bring all my stuff from Poland to Paris where I live right now but it's too big problem for now as I might be moving to Japan this summer ;)

I have tried many screen configurations including: 3x30", 2x30, 1x30", 2x27", 3x24", 2x24", 1x24"
and now I have 1x27" and 1x24". So far the best setup.

Btw. question to people from Paris. Is there any good shop where you can get some figures, anime/manga (in Japanese or English)? As I don't speak French yet I can't buy manga with French translation and looking for a shop is a hassle as well :)

My main workstation is a MacPro3.1 with 2x2.8GHz Intel Xeon, 16GB DDR2 RAM memory, 8TB of disk space (4x2TB WD Caviar Black) and ATI Radeon HD 5870.

Mouseover = load notes.

Screens are from Apple.
24" (left) for Twitter and Terminal, debugging console.
27" (right) main work area

Mouseover = load notes.

And this is my desk at work. MacBook Pro6.2 15.4" with Intel i7 2.66GHz, 8GB DDR3 RAM memory, 500GB of disk space. Connected to 27" Apple Cinema Display.

Mouseover = load notes.

Instead of figures I own quite a few iOS devices :)

    Bought the parts from some guy from China. He had website where was selling it. If I remember correctly the website was closed by interpol or something like that because these parts are probably real :) So you may not be able to get them now new.
    The official iPhone4 White should out this or next month. At least these are the rumors :)

    Why so much? I'm an iOS Developer (well mobile but right now I do as iOS only). I need to support all from 3.1 up to 4.3 so got one device for each. It is much simpler to get a device then to go back in version of iOS and what a time saver. Going back on iOS takes about 15minutes while plugging the device less than 30s.

    Nice setup.
    Did you opt for the MacBook Pro over something like the MacBook Air for work?

      I have the new 11.6" MBA but I use it only for trips and when I go to see the customer.
      It's nice and fast but not enough memory as a working machine if you are at the office (for me, I sometimes need to open 8GB PSD files). And it fits much better in my backpack ;)

        What sort of work involves an 8GB PSD?

        So ultimately the MBA lacks the power you need huh?

          Hentai movie production :) No, but seriously. From our graphic designer I get the design for the app, website or wot not. Each element have a few versions from which the customer can choose. To simplify this process we put everything in one PSD file and then there is no problem with versioning or that something have backup and something doesn't.

          As I said for me the MBA is perfect for traveling but not for everyday workstation.

    I understand why you close the Macbook Air but I just used Toshiba laptop and cloud system for my server so I can show it up front with said customer

      I'm a big Max OS X lover. Besides I can't use cloud to present something. At our biggest client office there is only internal network without access outside the building. Don't ask what type of client is that because I would have to kill you if I would tell you ;)
