What version are you using now? Latest versions (3.5 and up) are with some bugs...

Did you try another browser? (Chrome, Safari, Opera)

Download the latest version of FF. Uninstall FF and afterwards go into the Program Files folder on the C drive and delete the Mozilla folder. Reinstall FF and it should work fine.

Besides uninstalling you might need to delete your old profile. So after uninstalling firefox, press Windows+R to open up Run command, type in %appdata% then move your Mozilla folder away (in case you need to back it up). and reinstall Firefox. If it still occurs I guess your windows is broken likely to be virus.

Sounds to me like it could be the facebook app not getting along with firefox. Try using the app in Internet Explorer.

Also, go Start> Control Panel> Performance and Maintenance> Administrative Tools > Event Viewer, then click on Application and then look for an error in the log. Click on it and then click on the go.microsoft.com link and see if you get any additional information there.
