Mecha Monday 27
An interesting anime to say the least, IGPX (Immortal Grand Prix) is something I watched when it aired on Toonami. Giant robots speed skating/roller derby is what you could boil it down to, but it was (in my opinion) a really good series with new mech designs that moved away from the standard model of "metal plated human"(they also put some padding on the pilot suits). Got a nice link for anyone who is interested in learning more, including interviews with the design team. Hard to find good pictures of the series though (that makes me a little sad).

The pilot for the series is actually very different from what it turned out to be. The original concept was more of a robot survival game, you could probably find a video of it on youtube.

Reminds me of..Heavy Gear was it? Yeaaaaaaaaaaah, I was a kid back then alright..but I had my mechas embedded into my soul. xD
Not the game tho..the show..a battle royale between mechs. :D
I remember watching this on cartoon network! yes, Toonami...when it still existed, lol. I think a PS2 game was also made based on the show
Ahhh... I used to love this show. The English dub was really well done. Can't remember how it ended... Guess I'll have to NetFlix it and refresh my memory.
IGPX! I loved that show! Good ol' old-school Toonami.
I remember playing this on PS2 it was the shiznit! Chain combos, highspeed action, parts swapping, one on one battles. It was my most prized games back in my homeland. X3
