Help?

Pic unrelated much (since it didn't allow me to upload something without a pic)

So during my commute to my college, some guy just gave me a brand new DSi XL and a Toshiba laptop. I took it off his hands so I hope I can get it back to the original owners (for at least the laptop. The DSi XL really looks like it's brand new, or the internal data got deleted). Anyone have any idea how I can do determine this for at least the laptop?

Call the police. Report them. If a person was robbed, they'll have filed a report.

Call the police, they'll put it up for lost & found, stolen item, blah blah blah... I'm sure they'll say "It's all yours if no one claims it after this date: xx/xx/xxxx"

This is speaking from experience in my area (from other friends, not myself), I'm not exactly sure how it'll be in your situation. I've never been handed two very expensive pieces of technology before, ha. XD

Ive found a few Mobile phone's before and an ipod on busses (Must fall out of pockets)

I just hand it to the police they take your details and if no one claims it withing 60 day's iirc then they give it to you. It seems strange them giving it to you if no one claims it but they cant do anything else with it and i see it as a reward for doing the right thing.

Anyway its your choice but the police are usually the best bet
