Black Rock Fail - please help!

Posted by TashaValentine

I got a few figures yesterday and unfortunately my animation ver. BRS turned up broken! TToTT Can anyone suggest how to fix her? Her long twintail was snapped at the base and the rocks holding the cannon up have snapped too!
Does anyone know a good glue that could fix this? If not I was thinking of making a peg like you do with a garage kit but I don't know if this works with PVC because I've only used resin kits :s
I don't mind too much when this happens with Figmas (i just use blutak!) but this was an expensive figure. Postage was £50 and customs robbed me of a further £55!! So I don't want to get another because this will just happen again and I'll be even more poor >.<
I live in the UK so I might not be able to get some glues from overseas.
I think this has happened a lot with the same figure so has anyone with the same problem managed to fix this?

Did you got her this way? Then I would suggest sending this pictures to the place you bought her, and see what they have to say.

The hair you can fix by wood glue (it's a method I use, it's almost invisable) Dip a bit of glue on the broken piece and dry it with a hair dryer.

I'm so sorry for you! This is all the advice I can give you

ah sorry to hear that... I used super glue for this simca figure I have, that has broken hair pieces. So super glue might help you, but it might be noticeable, depending on how well you put it together.

Sorry that I couldn't be of much help^^" I think others have better ideas out there, this is just my two cents worth

Sorry to hear that, lots of glues work on figures. Super glue is worth a try but I often find that it's too weak. Other than that you can try hot glue or try and get some specialist plastic glue.

that's not good.... the manufacturer or seller should replace it. Or the shipping carrier should pay for it.

If you want to fix her and the glue fails, I would try and use a pin vise w/micro drill bit to make small deep holes and then use pins to join and glue.

I would suggest getting a replacement from the retailer, but if you want to fix it,pin it then superglue it. Next time use SAL for shipping. It's cheaper and the chances of customs robbing you are lower.

What the, if postage and customs duties was that much....how much did you pay for the figure itself?
