Your photos look a bit dark; I know that is the intention, but you may want to use a brighter diffused light behind the camera to help light up the figure more. It'll also bring out the colors so they don't look so diffused against the dark background. You can angle it away from the background so you don't catch any light since you want the photo to be dark anyway. If your camera has the ability to save in a RAW format, I'd recommend shooting in manual so you can tweak the settings, then make further adjustments in Photoshop as necessary. Good luck!
