Awsome horror movies from Asia?

I was just wondering, in your opinion, best Asian horror movie?

I think the eye, because it's scary, kepps you on your toes, BUT has a pretty good storyline, something I haven't seen in a horror film for a while.
Any suggestions for me about films?

Personally, I would recommend "Coming Soon" to newer fans of Asian Horror - it's not unrelenting horror, but is instead heavily laced with comedy, romance, red herrings, detective work and even a parting shot that can unease people the way The Ring did. (I won't specify since it's a shocker almost on a par with the original Friday The 13th - and only because you should have seen it coming from a mile away)

It's also one of those movies that, by the very virtue of its premise, leaves you fretting long after leaving the cinema. After all, you watched the film, just like all the victims... >:D

Another asian horror I would recommend is Ju-On: The Grudge, in its original Japanese form. Thanks to this film, I was instilled with a phobia for inexplicable television-corrupting curses, wierd pale cat-shrieking boys, attics on top of closets, women walking on all fours in an impossible manner, extremely black and long hair with no apparent sane root, and a certain very, very long, drawn-out gurgle.

And it's not like I can cower under my blanket and mumble "it's alright, it's just a movie" (people who have watched Ju-On before can figure out exactly why. Trust me - it's a real doozy: where else can you go when even your most comforting refuge can be violated. and very very abruptly too.)

I've watched the American version, but that was a walk in the park really, had no real scares to it. The Japanese one I have to watch, though!

Coming soon sounds epic, i'll try to find it ;D

Shutter (Thailand), Dark Water (Japan) and The Eye (Japan). I enjoyed Re-Cycle as well, but it's more of a supernatural thriller than a horror movie.

Actually the original "The Eye" was filmed in bangkok by Hongkong filmmakers. Another film from the same directors is The Child's Eye http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5w8v8E9Qo2s . It was originally filmed in 3D, but is still quite a shock to the eyes on 2D DVD. And it may put you off staying in 2-star hostels in Bangkok, dogboys, formaldehyde tanks and burning sacrificial paper houses. >:D

My favourites are "Shutter" and "Phobia".
They're really scary and very popular in Thai. XD

Shutter is a great film, but when I saw the gothic lolitas in the street I got told off because I was jumping up and down on the sofa yelling "LOLIS! LOLIS! CUTE DRESSES ARRRGH!!!"
