You read it right!!
Allo, allo! Coffeebugg here and you read it right. I've been toying with the idea these past few days about a little get together.
We've all seen Herr Fuhrer Danny's posts of his Tokyo CGM nights and other "Networking Dinners".
I'm currently pitching the idea to some fellow local bloggers and some are game for the idea. I'm also trying to get someone of a celebrity blogger of sorts to do a quick pitch and pep talk.
As of the moment, we're looking at possible sites and a budget to work with. Maybe throw in some sponsors.
So far here's what's in my head:
- Dinner will be served; light buffet (by yours truly). Non-alcoholic drinks
- Some displays; possibly of event sponsor and/or organizers
- A monitor/display for, I don't know, rock band or guitar hero perhaps?
- A short word from the organizers and/or sponsors/ guests of honor.
- and of course an area to mingle network and to make new friends.
- Cosplay is optional, If you wish to keep it to a minimum, We're there to interact, what's the point if you could barely move around in room that just fits 50 or so people snuggly.
- A small cover charge to help with the expenses because chances are, we'll be renting the venue for an evening. Call it a donation.
In general, It's just going to be meetup with a few twists. If you have any ideas, I'd like to hear them. I'm aiming to push this some time early December at the latest.
So who's game for it?
Been in touch with Coffee about this. If it pushes through i might add a bit spice on it since it's december ^_^

Heavens, no. XD.. only if you intend that to be your definition of a simple cosplay then by all means.
Care to explain the networking part?
It is as it is, I'm assuming that we all hail from different industries and fields of specialization. And perhaps, should the need arise, we know people in various business sectors to which we can each benefit from. Think Facebook or myspace only you're not reading text but meeting the actual people and getting to know them.
Little problem there.. I am but a (college) student XD
even college students can engage in networking in order to let others know what they are good at, so I think you're set. :)
Hmm I should be in Philippines by then
I hope I'll get to the Philippines in time. :) I'd be utterly disappointed if I miss this.

Just to remind everyone this is a gathering/networking event. It will never be anything like the cosplay events here in the metro. We indulge in a good chat, good food, exchange ideas and most of all have fun in a respectable manner.

Buffet eh? Why not pot luck? Less of a hassle, except maybe for the culinarily inclined.
Pot luck is always welcome, I can't really call it a buffet but I will be serving a good portion of what's for dinner. :P

I was thinking dinner out at a restraurant too, but it might be expensive for most of us. Omakase has good food at reasonable prices.
Would be nice but we're trying to keep things cheap while having the most fun.
