Home Theatre Speakers [Pantsu!?]

Posted by cryptonics [www]

Been making the new pad in Florida feel a bit like home... I went with Cerwin Vegas for Speakers, four XLS-6 for satellites, one XLS-6C for the center channel. one XLS-12S for the sub. And tying it all together, an Onkyo TX-SR608 receiver. I'll post pictures of the final setup once everything is clean and I'm ready to do a "room" post... ;)

Love that last shot!!! :P All your girls need are some guitars and it will look like they are on stage with a metal band!

Oh, welcome to Florida! I hope you don't come to dislike it as much as I have. (hehe - I just don't care for the heat!) Are you in north or south Fla? I lived in the Tampa area for about a decade and loved it - they actually have a winter and fall. I'm in the Ft. Lauderdale area now - yuck! :P

      Thanks. :)

I'm actually all the way up in the northwest corner... mere minutes away from Mobile, Alabama. The weather right now isn't awful... but I'll hold judgment until summers kicks into gear!

Sadly Electrostats are much more expensive then cone speakers, so I'll be waiting for some time before I consider a set of those. :)

This was pretty much a must, I specifically made sure I could order those hands before showing the new audio. :)

Too bad they don't make hands in the "Devil Horns" pose, that would be outstanding for rocking out!

Why I haven't had any of my girls doing something similar is beyond me. Excellent shots!

Now this was a cool post! It's nice to see another sound nerd around here. I also am into audio/video stuffs... I worked in the industry for over 18 years. Needless to say I'm a bit of an audio snob now. :3

I use a Sony ES reciever and all Polk Audio speakers in my setup. But I have two HUGE CV concert speakers in the garage. Those have 18 inch drivers and horn tweeters that'll bust your eardrums. LOL

Hey if you are going to put sound in your house, you might as well do it right! Every detail down to the RG6 for the LFE input. :) Dude! Get those CV babies indoors and hooked up! Annoy the neighbors down the block and around the corner.

The CV's outside *ARE* hooked up. I use them for backyard parties and such. They're run off an OLD Harmon Kardon amp, pre-Rockford Fosgate buyout, so it's actually good.

ohh ok. Now that is pretty wicked. When I do make it up that way I gotta see those so we can geek out on audio for a bit. ;)

I've got Sony/Polk myself, both are relatively low-end though. The speakers are nice but I cheaped out on the receiver and didn't realize that it's only HDMI passthrough and doesn't actually pull sound off of it. I'll have to get a better deck when I move.

I need to replace my center channel and was thinking about klipsch or jbl since they are affordable
