hello guys, this is my first build for this year and actually this kit is my entry for vegeta8259 contest on youtube. This kit was simple but really fun to build, i used the color scheme of the 2008 Ford Shelby GT500 KR for its theme and im pretty satisfied how it came out :D.
here's the video i submitted for the contest http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHK7D3L-mIg
hope you guys like it

Not really a mustang fan, but that is one bad ass Ball.
thanks black12 :D
That is a Very Nicely done RB-79 you have there.
thank you Ex-CALIBUR
Awesome paint & details!!!
thanks cbr1000rr!
Nice and clean, though I do spot some masking lines. Don't worry though, I suck at masking too. =P
thanks red9, yeah most of it are on the backpack part XD
that is an awesome looking ball
thanks Otaku Dan :D
Eh, this kit available for purchase anywhere?

Haha, fantastic concept!
thanks Falldog, the movie "death race" actually gave me the idea for the kit and thankfully it came out really well :D
But the Shelby in Death Race is black and red!
I should look at who did this kit. When I saw the images I thought, "Damn, someone else has is doing the overexposed thing just as well as Jokster."
I gotta ask, how'd you get do the decals? And what top coat did you use?
yeah, i thought that the black and red might not bring out the detail on the ball so i Google and gt500 came up and it was a perfect fit :D
i bought a water slide decal paper at our local bookstore and printed out the custom decals others we're leftovers from the zaku decal sheet, for the topcoat i brushed a few coats of "pledge wipe & shine" or "future"
What, you've never seen a proper muscle car before? pfft
What brand of decal paper did you use? Was it one of where you had to spray a coat on top after printing to protect the ink? I tried once with Testors and the results were terrible.
just saw them in games, pictures and movies an actual muscle car not yet their kinda rare to see them here XD.
i used a brand named scopa yeah its the one thats need a clear coat sprayed it with rj london clear coat, some of the prints did smudge a little... maybe i applied to much clear coat
Awesome ball you got there xD Very nice painting too :)
thanks Ritt0 Viet boi :D
Nice painting, very smooth and shiny sheen.
How did you get such a nice varnish finish? :D
Awesome, I hope you win! XD
thanks SG, i did four coats of paint on the kit, i applied three mist coat and on the fourth i made it a "wet coat" saw the technique by someone on youtube don't know the name because it's in japanese XD and then sealed it in with a few coats of future
What kind of masking tape do you use? I haven't done a kit in years, but when I used to do a lot of modeling, I found that the Tamiya tape pretty much solved all the bleed issues I was having with normal tape.
i also use tamiya tape, i may have not pressed the tape enough on some edges and the paint have sipped underneath XD
clean... sleek... and smooth kabayan... awesome job!
:D thanks zero_four
