RB-79 Mustang Ball GT

Posted by jokster [www]

hello guys, this is my first build for this year and actually this kit is my entry for vegeta8259 contest on youtube. This kit was simple but really fun to build, i used the color scheme of the 2008 Ford Shelby GT500 KR for its theme and im pretty satisfied how it came out :D.

here's the video i submitted for the contest http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHK7D3L-mIg

hope you guys like it

Nice and clean, though I do spot some masking lines. Don't worry though, I suck at masking too. =P

But the Shelby in Death Race is black and red!

I should look at who did this kit. When I saw the images I thought, "Damn, someone else has is doing the overexposed thing just as well as Jokster."

I gotta ask, how'd you get do the decals? And what top coat did you use?

yeah, i thought that the black and red might not bring out the detail on the ball so i Google and gt500 came up and it was a perfect fit :D

i bought a water slide decal paper at our local bookstore and printed out the custom decals others we're leftovers from the zaku decal sheet, for the topcoat i brushed a few coats of "pledge wipe & shine" or "future"

What, you've never seen a proper muscle car before? pfft

What brand of decal paper did you use? Was it one of where you had to spray a coat on top after printing to protect the ink? I tried once with Testors and the results were terrible.

What kind of masking tape do you use? I haven't done a kit in years, but when I used to do a lot of modeling, I found that the Tamiya tape pretty much solved all the bleed issues I was having with normal tape.

i also use tamiya tape, i may have not pressed the tape enough on some edges and the paint have sipped underneath XD
