Soja & DieTa's Room
Compared to a lot other rooms I've seen here, we're still bloody beginners when it comes to collecting Animé, Manga & Merchandise stuff, but I wanted to show you our little office.
I'm a freelancer, working from my Home Office here in Moers, Germany. Here is where I do my clients work and my own big project ctrltweet. You can find my blog on klein2 - filled up with a lot of technical stuff. Since working both in a PC hotline for years, my wife and I escaped to Macs ;)
For christmas 2010 (so just a few weeks ago), my wife gave me my first three figures. I couldn't believe that I really got my own figures - it was a fantastic christmas! :D (they were: Belldandy (blue skirt), Sasasegawa Sasami (Little Busters) and a small but cute Kurumi figure)
Meanwhile our figure collection exploded - 18 figures so far and 2 pre-ordered at the moment.
Some words of the technic stuff: all 4 screens + the LED screen at the wall are connected to the Mac Pro. This is very comfortable. I'm sitting and working here up to 16h's a day and to watch some good stuff (or even TV) while working is welcome - it can be pretty silent here. The Mac mini you see on the (yes, IKEA EXPEDIT) rack is a Mac OS X Server, just running to enable us to connect via iPhone, iPad or MacBook to our local network when we're out of the house.
You can read our stuff:

Last Update: 08. Feb 2011 - Added the Nyu wall scroll + Rei box (and the movement of the Belldandy wall scroll)
Hope to read you soon :)

Our "Ah! My Goddess" figure glass rack :) Those lamps are LEDs, but driven with rechargeable batteries (Eneloops)

Out "other" lovely figures. So cute :) We're currently hunting for Elfen Lied figures - but they are very rare and prices on eBay (just found 2!) are super high.

The screen is connected to the Mac Pro, running VLC at the moment, it's also nice to put a terminal in fullscreen mode one (iTerm 2) and make the font bigger - looks nerdy, but is sometimes very helpful while working.

A bunch of boxes who will get their own wooden rack in the basement. I was told that those boxes should be handled very careful, so we do ;)

My wifes desk - with her beloved iMac 21.5" i3.

I love clocks! Showing those times (from left to right): San Francisco, New York, Moers (Germany, our home town), Hyderadbad (India) and Tokyo (what a surprise ^^). Those Star Wars models are made of LEGO.

My wifes desk - powered off, because she's off to work.

We've 2 kittens running (or more: sleeping) around the house. This view shows our backyard, a nice garden and it's better than to watch onto the street ;)

My desk

Yes - I really use and need those 4 screens (3x 24" HP * 1x 22" Samsung). I work a lot with terminals and editors, Photoshop and so on. Doing web work is much more fun if you can spread your work over some screens ;)

The Mac Pro, 2010 model, 16GB of RAM, 240GB OCZ SSD + 1TB HD, but most storage is in the basement where "Karinka" is working. That's our main file & virtualization server, having 16TB of storage and running on Nexenta Core (Solaris/Debian mix) with ZFS and currently hosting 3 VMs in VirtualBox which I need for work. I will upgrade this box to 16GB RAM (ECC) hopefully tomorrow, when the new RAMs will arrive (with 6GB at the moment, it's too quickly filled up).

My wife made this AWESOME calendar for me! Every month contains another figure/s :)

Already received the new Nyu wall scroll that we ordered yesterday from Archonia :) It's now where the Belldandy wall scroll was before...

Belldandy now sits next to the other Ah! My Goddess wall scroll...

... in my wifes corner :)

Soja's next figure: Rei - excited to see her unboxed. We've a deal: everybody should just open their own box ;) So - have to wait until later today to see Rei.

Elfen Lied ftw
Hehe true :) Was a shocking session, watched the first 10 episodes in one night - one after one. Soo good stuff, but very psycho... In the end, an Animé you don't just consume but also think about.
So many cuties! Your collection is wonderful. :D
Many thanks :-)
Really want this figure!
I have this one!
Nagisa <3
Nyuu!!!! XD
I will receive the Nyu wall scroll today (of course I will update this post with new photos once they are on the wall :)) Nyu is soooo cute!
Hey! Nice chair! I think our rooms have a lot of the same stuff!
*lol* That's what I thought, too. You've a good taste for computers & chairs and multiple screens ^^
lovely room~^^
Thanks! Tried to make it with love and quality not just with quantity ;)
Prepare to be piled-up by anime stuffs ^0^. I bet you wife is gonna get more.
That's really cool. Your wife sounds awesome!
You can see the complete calendar on her site: http://www.sasami.de/2011/02/07/mens-calendar/ - and yes! She is! :)
My favorite figure - Belldandy is so beautiful!
Insane, but so epic :D
Hah, I don't remember times without your blog in my RSS reader. Epic office :)
Never expected to see you here :)
Btw. the desk lamps are good enough to work with only 1 or 2 at night?
At least since my postings about "Steel Angel Kurumi" & "Oh! My Goddess" Intros and some figures on my blog, I guess you had an idea that I'm a little Otaku ;) Great to get a comment from someone who is a blog reader!
To answer your question: Yes - they are very bright. Not sure which kind of technique IKEA is using in those lamps, but for "LED" the lamps are getting really warm. 2 of them are fine for night usage in my mind, but keep in mind that I (with my dark wall papers) like it a bit darker ;)
Well being an otaku and owning figures doesn't indicate that person if figure.fm reader :)
The office is really nice. It looks busy, but everything is laid out neatly. Maybe I can incorporate some ideas for my room :P
Feel free to use ideas - but show them :D
Many thanks for the positive feedback!
Cool. X-Wing and, I think, Tie Defender on the ceiling.
Usagi Tsukino *.*
I like this picture =)
What light is this? It looks pretty cool!
