      Yes, but I didn't finish reading why because I didn't want to spoil it for myself xD
      Something about her being forced to marry a 40 year old man and her parents banning her from the otaku world. She wore that attire so she wouldn't be recognized.

    During the anime I was expecting that we would find out she's really a model in her real live and a full hardcore Otaku in her personal life. :P If they did that she could be almost a role model for Kirino so she could become more comfortable with her otaku side and not feel she has to hide it.
