Rina @ her first "proper" shoot
Mon 2011/02/14 11:57 JST
I brought Rina into the family over a month ago but I've been so busy that there hasn't been a chance to really get out and about. Finally this weekend I went out with a friend and Rina to get some pictures knocked out... Both my friend and Rina were good sports today, we all had a blast and will definitely be doing this again VERY soon.

I like this photo ^O^L
As I was posing Rina my friend jumped in to mimic her... so we ran with it. :D
Very oretty outdoor shot ~ !!!!!
Congrats on ger Rina ^O^/
Thanks Toel-uru! I was quite happy with how this shoot turned out. :) Having a friend there to hold things made it so much easier... and the commenting we made when other people started talking made it hilarious at points.
Rina is so beautiful! The scenery is gorgeous! That outfit is so cute. These are wonderful photos.
Thanks Zakuro. It took me easily over an hour picking out which outfit and wig Rina should wear for this shoot...
Great photos. Rina is a cutey.
Thank you Ultimaknight, I agree Rina is quite the beautiful girl!
Rina looks so pretty in the light ^^ looked liek she had a lot of fun
Thanks Kuromono. ^_^ Rina is a very bright girl, it also helped that this time I was using a gold/silver reflector... you get that more natural light compared to a flash. :)
So sweet XD Looks like fun! Look forward to see moar in future!
Fo shizzle Chun! Many more to come!
Now, He's a good sport!! coolness, dude!!
Very much so! Dollfies aren't his thing in the slightest but he still was willing to come along for this shoot. :)
Very lovely Photos ^^
I like it!
Thank you U.N.Cerbrus! I'm glad you like the pics. :)
Very beautiful outdoor photo.^^
Rina is very beautiful.>,<
Thanks Kitsuke! Don't fall for Rina too hard now!
Wow! Great pictures and beautiful scenery!
Thanks Jun. :)
I really liked this picture!
Glad you liked it. :) I wanted to better portray her walking along the path... but there were some stability issues...
lovely pics! rina looks so cute! ^^
Thanks Ggem. :) Rina appreciates your kind words.
Nice pics. That shot with her and your friend is really cool.
It was an epic pointing battle, but I think Rina won. :)
awesome photos!! love the outfit =D
Thanks. :) Rina looks good with that skirt/cardigan/hat combo doesn't she?
Bang bang! Win!
Who do you think won?
I really like the composition of light and shadow across her in this photo. Great job.
Thanks Scripple. :) It helps that Rina is so photogenic. :)
Hey c- how do you like your 7D anyways? I should be getting mine on Wed. Were you using the EF24-70mm f/2.8L USM on that shoot? If you were- dang, good glass makes a difference. I know I'm totally geeking out here and asking way too many questions- but is lightroom worth it?
I love the 7D! The near 100% view finder is handy. I performed this entire shoot using the EF50mm F/1.4 USM. This time I wanted to have that extra tight DoF, and I wanted to force myself to stop being lazy and using the zoom to frame the picture correctly. Overall I would fly the "Mission Accomplished" Flag for this shoot, never once did I feel like I needed that extra quality of my higher end glass. Normally I alternate between the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM and the EF 24-70 F/2.8L USM.
And I offer a resounding YES! for Lightroom. For work-flow management Lightroom is simply stunning. I was able to edit this whole shoot in under half an hour, that included transfering the pictures off the camera, selecting the ones I wanted to work with, making the changes, and converting the RAW pictures to high res JPG for Flickr and lower res for here on Figure.fm and Facebook. :)
Sweet- I really did like that 100%. The crop that I have on the 10D was getting to be a little much. Nice- EF50mm F/1.4 is a great lens. I'm stuck with the plastic fantastic. Wow. Impressed with your arsenal you got there. Then- I think I'll just have to pick up LR. Business expense. Heheheheh. Ya know, I wonder how many people got the Deliverance reference- really curious as I think we many not be part of the regular demographic.
The greatest part about a prime lens is how it makes your lazy ass move! For whatever reason just that simple action causes you to think so much more about what you are doing.
We anime/manga/figure/Doll fans have such broad taste pallets that I wouldn't be too shocked if a good deal got that reference... Although that film might be a bid too old for many of the users of this site to be aware of it...
Wow, that's an awesome set of shots, loved every one of them (^^) Saved some for wallpaper too ^^
Thank you Otakusan! I hope you saved the high-res versions posted over on Flickr. ^_^
Oh yes I did (^^)/
Saved as well likewise^^ Great work!!
Thanks Haku. :) I'm glad you liked the shots!
Awesome! Lovely photos!
Arigatou Wolfheinrich. :)
Nice shot and I love the warm color :D
Thanks you Arael, Rina is such a warm girl she radiates sun shine!
Fantastic photos~!!
Outdoor shots are always great!! Nice job~! (^^)b
Thanks Tsubasa! I agree, getting outside of the house for a shoot produces some spectacular results!
Ruuuun, Rina, ruuuun! I think I hear banjoes in the background!! :p
HAH! You should have seen when we were on the side of the road taking pictures... many cars slowed down, but one outright stopped! We were expecting a situation kinda of like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqjF2k0RS1E
Sheesh. You almost made me snarf my coffee. Heheheheh. Thank goodness there was no "squealing" eh?
haha oh man, you have no idea!
Normally I'm not a dollfie fan, but Rina has a gorgeous face. The eyes and eyebrows are amazing.
You know that is how it always starts? Not a fan... then that special girl melts your heart... then soon there is one at your house!
oh noes. then when my daughter gets older then she'll start collecting them too?
You never know! You daughter... significant other... or even yourself! dun dunn DUNNN.
AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
VERY NICE SHOT! XD
Thank you Wiguan. :)
Is that you?
I really like Rina's smile... <3
That is actually a friend of mine that was helping out during the shoot. :) He took a few pictures of me working with Rina, but I haven't gotten those from his just yet... I might update this post later with one of those shots as well. ^^;;
really really great, i enjoy the colors and everything in your pictures!
Thanks Nomy. :) This time I made good use of a reflector, I think that made all the difference this time. :D
you can really notice the reflector, in some of the pics she really is "glowing"
I hope you noticed the reflector in a good way. :) If it is obvious bad then I failed. :'(
i did^^
the reflector is obvious but not in a bad way, since in contrast with the "autum-like" colors it gives her a warm light glow
i really like it :)
These are beautiful, what wonderful scenery!
Thank you SaberJess, Just around the corner was a controlled burn... so we were trying to take pictures and not get burned alive at the same time. :) It worked out great since it kept the number of people down.
Ah that's really cool!
@_@
All these pics are awesome!
Thank you DDfan!
This is hilarious! I need shots like this with my girls dammit! XD
Hah! I'm a little jealous of my friend since he got to be the one posing with her... I need to get *myself* in some pictures with the girls.
Exactly! The only pics I am ever in are the ones Manami took of me! And those are extremely unflattering.... XD
Heh, all this effort placed on trying to get the lighting just right for the girls... then when you gotta slip yourself in there you end up going "wait, what?"
Love this shot.
I liked how this one turned out as well, I used the golden reflector and then in post I adjusted the WB back to near normal for her... which made the BG just pop, especially the river... that water is just a really bland brown color so I was excited to get some blue out of it!.
Cute pose!
Yeah, when I saw that fence I wanted to snap away some like this, the one just above this shot is my #1 for this shoot though. I'm seriously going to frame that one and put it on my wall.
Hee hee.... I took two of my faves and put them in frames on my girls endtables. I haven't been brave enuff to blow one up to put elsewhere in the house. :)
I'm just going all out, my walls are pretty bare right now so I need to get *something* up there...
Well with shots like these, you should have lots of great things on the walls. That reminds me, when are the girls giving us a house tour? ^_^
As soon as I finish unpacking... haha... I'm 99% done... But that last 1% is killer >.<
Is she like a daredevil or something?? Out on the tracks, out in the street, on bridges.... Crazy girl!
Rina isn't messing around! When she wants to get a good shot she will stop at nothing! There was actually a controlled burn going on during this shoot so we were snapping pictures and trying to beat the fire at the same time!
Ha ha! Such a brave girl! At least yall stayed out of trouble. I recall seeing those horrible controlled burns down there before when visiting my grandparents. Miles of road covered in smoke so thick you couldn't see 20 feet in front of you.
pure madness! What I thought was so interesting though is that the park wasn't closed while they were doing it... really just business as usual!
I suppose those burns *are* business as usual down there. Odd that they would have them so close to where you were if you were in the park. You'd figure they would close it so noone could get hurt and sue somebody. XD
Well, I guess that is why Florida gets its own tag on Fark.com :)
Man, a proper photo shoot sure is an understatement! You sure did some great shots! I bet it was fun having someone along to help out and keep you company. I have yet to have anyone along with me other than doll meets. Your buddy is a good sport for going along!
Great pics and some excellent scenery. I really liked the look of the "abandoned" train tracks and the road. You captured some good details there.
Having a friend there made all the difference! This is easily the best shoot I've had to date. I agree it was cool that he went along with the shoot, he drew the line at holding her though when I needed to use the bathroom, haha.
The road worked out pretty well, the one with the major edit was my favorite from that set... I still need to work on it some more, I honestly want to make it look a bit more rustic... The RR ones were fun too, just randomly pulled off the road and hopped on the rails for some shots, next time I want to get Rina (or Miu/both!) to stand on the rail itself on their own, without a stand... I think that would be the best!
Both your girls on the rails would be cool as hell. Get on that! XD
I had to add that this photo rocks!!!
Heh, it seems everyone really like this shot. :) My friend is so famous now! Next step is to get him to adopt a girl of his own...
Really great looking shots of Rina enjoying some time outside! Love her cute smile.
Thanks Otakudepot. :) I was glad to get out and take some pictures with her! I was getting out these past few weeks but I didn't bring either of the girls along for those shoots... it was extra refreshing to grab some pictures of a Dollfie. Now I just need to get motivated and finish unpacking so I can do a room post!
Cool!!!^^
Totally. :D
Excellent, very cool photo. Nice to see you have an understanding friend.
You know it! Having a second person there, even if what you have isn't their thing, makes the whole experience so much easier.
Excellent photos, love the background setting and lighting atmosphere. Good work.
Thanks Smithy. :) I hope to keep the quality up around this level here on out. :D
awwwww xD i love this photo x3
Thanks. :) It isn't every day that a non-Dollfie fan is willing to play along!
such adorable photos cryptonics x3 rina looks so cute with that fluffy beret x3
Thanks Polty. :) The beret really worked out, it also covered up the part of that wig which I'm not a particular fan of... double win!
This is soo adorable
Thanks Leebie. :)
Uha~! Like this photo! XD
Wonderful Shots ^^
Your friend is awesome and Rina is absolutely beautiful.
This is absolutely adorable! I can't help but smile at this picture, it's so cute x)
