Re-organizing my Detolf...

Posted by $tranger

Hello everyone!
Haven't made any uploads in a while (mainly because there was not much to talk about), but I'm back with some Detolf-cleaning and display tips :)
Recently I found a nice german shop (http://www.prospekthalter.com) which sells acrylic risers for display cases and other advertising goodies made of acryl. They have a nice selection and their products are just the thing I needed to add the right finishing touch to my first (and soon already completely filled) detolf.

Some pictures of the things I ordered:

Some acrylic U-form cubes. I bought two 10cm (~3,8') ones and a 15cm (~5,7") one - they work great together with 1/8 figures and your detolf!
(Please note that they are still wrapped with a plastic protection layer - that's why they don't look so pretty ...yet! ^^)

An hexagonal riser. Height's about 5cm (~1,9") - ideal for big figures with a large base!

Next thing I had to do was clean out my display case and finally hide my LED-light's cables. I'm quite happy with the result - if you like, you can compare it to a picture in my Selvaria post.
I also cut out a part of the upper cover so the cables can be lead out better.

While I was at it, both my figures and the display case got a little cleaning treatment aswell. In the end it almost took 3 hours for me to finish ;)

As you can see I used some plain old zipties for the sides.
Akiha is already waiting for me to finish... :P

And here we have the first riser and the new cables/light in action! It elevates Saber nicely so her face isn't covered by Selvaria's lance anymore. This way they both fit in the same section without occupying each other's space.

Here you can see the U-form cubes. They are just as transparent as the glass below, so they won't bother your view at all. Ciel is a bit hard to see from above, so I might switch out this section with another one or transfer it to my next detolf's mid.

My fully assembled 1/7 & 1/8 section. Nono could finally move up from being all alone in the bottom section ^^

And finally my whole collection in a concluding photo.

I can't wait for March, since e2046 will release the next batch of their pre-painted Bayonettas <3. And I'm (hopefully) one of the proud owners, so you can certainly expect a new post around that time!

Kyou arrived just today. As a big Kyou-fan she was a must-GET for me.
I'm Still wondering if I should switch her with nendo saber or keep the top section battle-themed...

I love them. They make a huge difference in a display case - it doesn't look just like a "mass of figures" anymore, and you can easily highlight certain figures.

I think that Amazon has some in stock (search for 'acrylic riser').
Other than that, you could try to find companies in your country that sell advertising stands, scrolls and similar goods - they often sell accessories for display cases aswell.
