Eid Ul-Fitr in Tokyo
Yesterday was the first day of Eid Ul-Fitr or, as we Malaysians, Singaporeans and Indonesians love to call it, Hari Raya Aidilfitri. It's a Muslim event to celebrate the end of a whole month of fasting.
About 400 Malaysians from all over Japan, muslims and non-muslims alike, arrived at the Malaysian embassy in Shibuya from 8:30 am onwards for a nice round of talking, sharing and most importantly, free food! And it's Malaysian food to boot, a rarity in Japan.
To a Japanese, the event could be easily mistaken for a cosplay party lol

I usually post Japan culture-related stuff, but hope you allow me to make this one exception :) Happy Raya and Eid Ul-Fitr to everyone!

Oh rats, should've told you about it :P Well there's always next year, and the next!
Oh yea, the food was served courtesy of Ginza Rasa Malaysia restaurant. A little on the expensive side though, but worth a try, maybe more. The briyani rice was authentic and delish! http://r.gnavi.co.jp/fl/en/g275501/
