Custom HDD WIP

Posted by chibinezumi [www]

Working on another custom head. The mouth is not as smooth as I would like but for first try at major sanding and epoxy work, I will take what I can. She still needs last sealant coating, and gloss in the mouth. Hoping to make successful custom eyes for her soon! DDS would be the perfect fit for this girl... ^_^

She's lookin' cute! Actually, something about her makes me imagine her talking with a slight lisp. She have a name yet? :D

Say, for custom eyes, have you tried Pupapa's D.eye.Y bases? They're inexpensive and totally work great--they're what Agatha has, actually. Just remember if you use prints (whether acetate or paper) to glue them to the lens of the eye, and you'll be good to go. :)

http://www.pupapa.com/shop/index.php?cPath=27_71&osCsid=f88c4e53c2360703f7fd10d40b6fe9a9 should help you with the eye front, then. :) (Longest URL ever, practically.) Hm, names. Even though she's depicted in a very modern anime style, something about her suggests older names to me--1950's or earlier. I've got a link to a site that has this chart of the top 1000 popular names per decade from the 1880's onward if you're interested in it, but I'll warn you that the site's associated blog and name wiki can turn into a massive time sink!

Poofiemus thanks for the link! I ordered some 20mm and 22mm diy eyes. Being able to look at Agatha modeling them really helped, so thank her for me ;) Do you remember how long it took you to get your eyes in the mail? Also would love the link to that chart, maybe I can think outside the box with names ^^

Heh, will do! I'm sure she'll be flattered. Hm, can't quite remember, but I'm fairly certain it wasn't more than 2 weeks on the absolute cheapest shipping. They're acrylic and fairly light, so they don't cost much to ship either. :) And at least your new girl isn't exactly going eyeless in the meantime.

Here ya go! http://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager The site was originally meant for baby names, but I found it because on the National Novel Writing Month forums, people were using it to help with historical accuracy for naming turn-of-the-century or WWII characters. It's fascinating in its own right too, to see how some names have waxed and waned, while others have either materialized suddenly or vanished abruptly. Sometimes the site admin will actually investigate some of the more anomalous ones in the blog; politics, timing, and pop culture apparently have some pretty profound effects on name trends. Samantha, for instance, was a virtually dead antique name until Bewitched came out in the early 60's.

    Kud???

She's cute. ^^ I think her tooth should be moved a lil bit to her left cheek. And also I think you should trim the tooth a bit coz for some reason her smile looks as if she lost her other teeth.
