The unboxing of KyoAni Limited Ver. 1/8 Yuki Nagato

Posted by SleeplessOtaku [www]

Hey Comrades,

Today I would like to do a little review on a very special figure I recently aquired. For those who didn't know Yuki is my first favorite 2d girl character that I admired and so she is the only individual char. that I collect the most of. In the last few pics are some shots of my mini Yuki Shrine but I didn't include the 2 figmas and few other SD figures in there because I did not have space to put them in the same shelf. Ok enough of me ranting on and let's just review this figure ;)

Quick Review: 1/8 Yuki Nagato PVC [KyoAni Limited Ver.]

Pros:

-Excellent sculpting, comparable to GSC and Alter quality
-Love the shading on the coat and the seifuku
-Nice pose, really do look like she's standing there as a gust of wind aproaches
-Base is screwed on nice and tight, cool snowflake design
-The figure feels quite heavy on the hands, feels twice as heavy as my other 1/8 figures, perhaps it's a higher quality PVC
-Gorgeous box, 100% clear plastic compare to most figure boxes which are in cardboards.
-Comes with a clear poster which looks great for framing ^_^

Cons:

-Exclusive and freaking expensive - requires a proxy service
-Mine came with a tiny smudge under the coat :'(

I hope this quick review will help anyone who wish to get her some day. Good luck! ;)

Not sure if you're editing the post right now, or will make a complete review later, but can you show us the actual figure outside of the box? I'm quite eager to see the final result, since I haven't seen any photos of this except for the prototypes.

It'd be worth it despite the cost I reckon

Now that I think back, this is the most expensive single piece figure I've ever brought mainly due to EMS shipping which I don't often use.

The cost of EMS is quite decent though especially if you order a lot because compared to registered SAL once you're over 2kg the difference is like 500 yen... My combined SAL registered shipping cost with my friend costed us about 6000yen TT

Shipping from Japan to the U.S. is quite cheap when using SAL, it's like half the cost of EMS that's why I often use SAL but hey even if it's 500 yen difference and I'm not in a hurry to get it, I'll still take SAL :D

I managed to acquire her as well, and she's definately worth it! It took me a while to figure out that the clear poster/cel was in the package and could be removed instead of just attached to the box.

My biggest complaint was that the little stand that you need to use to prop the coat up was really hard to position correctly. It only fits in one direction and one spot.

She's a great figure and I love your Yuki shrine!

Yeah I was quite surprised when I saw that hand drawn illustration of Yuki on the box since most figure boxes just have photos of the figure taken from varies angles. Are you planning on framing it with a diff. bg like a customized one?

The little stand looks complicated to position it into the coat but after a couple of mins I figure it out and it slides in as smoothly as butter :D

I was thinking of getting one of those "floating" frames with glass on both sides and having the cell sandwiched between.

I never heard of a "floating frame" do you have a link of the cost to purchase one? also a general pic of how it looks like would help too ^_^ thanks!
