Devil May Cry - live action movie
What are you thinking about the "upcoming" DMC-Live-Action-Movie? Personally I'm just a little frightened that they might/will screw up the characters completely like they did in Dragonball Evolution, Hitman and also Resident Evil (as good as the movies may be, Wesker (Afterlife) was a total JOKE!!)
Anyways the rights of making a movie were aquirred by Screen Gems who already have experience with Capcom (Resident Evil Movies).

Nevertheless I'm staying very, very, very carefully with this topic since I got dissapointed to often from those game-to-movie projects.

I don't know but somehow both ideas sounds very interesting. The concept of making the movie based on the already known "revange for his murdered mother Eva"-story or the concept of making it based on the announced reboot with the completely new Dante (if he stays the way he was designed so far).
Also - and I don't know if this is just a rumor o final but it seems that this man - Ian Somerhalder - will propably be the Movie-Dante:

Is it just me or does he somehow look like DMC4 Dante (in a kind of way)... he even (approx.) has that selfconvident-"I can do anything"-smirk.
He honestly COULD be Dante's actor! Just a little more muscles, that typical 'bittersweet' (and manly-mature) look/appearance and he would be perfect! XP
(Nevertheless nothing and nobody is assimilable with the original Dante because his badass factor as well as his sexyness stays unique.)
I will "stay on target" about that whole DMC-to-movie topic but the only and always remaining fear will be: "Hopefully they will not screw the characters/storyline in any way!"
If you have heard any more rumors about it please don't hasitate to tell me anything you know. :)
Like any other game-to-movie I think it will suck ass.
It may end up being a decent "movie" but I think for most game fans it will be a disappointment.
Some movie producers and directors think of gamers as a mindless audience that will "eat" anything as long it has the name of one of their favorite games on it...

I have a very strong formed opinion towards game movies but sadly its all in the money I have yet to see a game movie that really caters to the original game audience in a way that it could be seen as a actual sequel to the games story.
Personally I think they would be better off basing it on the Ninja Theory's "Vision" of DMC so we could have a "Double Facepalm" and a "Told you so Capcom".
I know excatly what you mean and I can totally understand (and share) your opinion. However I still won't believe they are really going to terribly screw up DMC too now... It's hard for me to believe since I grew with it from the were beginning...
Maybe god will bless this movie and let it be at least as great as Max Payne (the movie) was...
Oh, actually I'm really looking forward to DmC (NT). :)
Since it will be a reboot it's like not a DMC but just sharing the names and title. Or ... a new start... whatever. :)
i also think it would probably suck but theres always a chance it might turn out good.
i reckon they should just stay away from making live action movies from games, its just weird...

This could have potential but of course Hollywood is gonna ruin it as usual.
I guess they will go on a (totally) different storyline than we all know...
I just fear it's gonna be the same screwing as they did with dragonball. >_<
