GN-006 - Cherudim Gundam
- Cherudim Gundam - [Designers Color Ver.] - 1/100
- First time using water slide decals, in my opinion I found frustrating since I prefer a matte coated model instead of gloss, to compensate I used a mix of decals and cut stickers
- Modifications -
1] Black Coat - Originally Designers Color Green coat, but I really wanted to change things up a bit so decided to spray paint all the green runners black
(Any comments on improvement are gladly welcomed)
- I’m still a novice builder not the best, but I build for the fun of building something that makes you happy, not the best photographer either and I do apologize to anyone that doesn’t like what they see here. ~ Nite

From what I can see, the decals turned out great!
Also, high five for having a preference for matte. I'm not really a fan of gloss either.
Thank You
very nice, the decals made this look even better
Thank You
That's a good build actually nothing really to nitpick on and don't worry about the pictures they look okay. If there's something worth pointing out is how you've edited the 3rd picture lol
I mean the close up of the Gundam's face looks weird (might've been how you resized)..
Thank You, I agree about the pictures - what I found difficult to take was the up close shot with the LED eyes, because the LED itself wasn't very bright at all and once you fill in the background of the plastic the light isn't visible anymore
no nub marks????WOW.
this is the essence of straight builds.
nice job. good decal positioning too. and nice color scheme!
not to be rude, but some positions look plain. maybe just me.
still, model-wise, very nice job.
Thank You, I'll admit I do have lots of nubs, but I believe the quality of the pictures and the background hides it - really looking into better tools and paints to eliminate or hide nubs. I also agree that many positions look really plain, been reading up on some tutorials on better posing for gunpla. Overall thank for pointing those out for me ^^
Cool! The decal really spice things up nicely!
Although it's probably safest to put water decal on gloss surface, you can still spray matte clear on top of it to change the surface finish and secure the decal. Sometimes, if your decal is thin enough and your clear matte is thick enough, the boundary between the decal and the plastic might disappear :)
Thank You, Your absolutely right about using water decals on gloss surface or else it will end up silvering, when I painted the runners the spray coat was already matte black, so I had to improvise by using Future Shine to create a near semi gloss surface for the decal then applied the decals follow by an overall coating of Top Coat - thank you for your comment I'll take it into consideration for any future kit.
Nice pictures. The decals makes the Cherudim look even more amazing.
Thank You, I agree with the decals - when I was about to buy the kit I felt that just saving a little more for the Designers Ver. was going to be worth it.
I have no complaints, looks great to me.
The decals look good to, I have yet used any of the decals that I got lol
Thank You - I personally didn't use decals at first, but my perception change after viewing great gunpla on here ^^
I have to say first that I don't really like the 00 style of mechs. That being said I think you did a great job! no nubs + those decals make it different so i like this this suit now strangely.
P.s. Great poses.
Thank You - your opinion about the 00 style mechs is a very valid reason, I too didn't want to pick up a kit from the series because from my point of view the design looks really simple/plain but when they distributed the Designers Color Ver. that featured many decals it caught my attention and plus the LED component that came with it.
Wow great job. I love everything about it. You have a good eye for decal placement. The colors blend in so nice. Hats off to you.
Thank You - I'm glad the decal's worked out, but I'll admit that I was rushing the kit because of the limited time I have to work on anything as a result some decals came right off even after topcoat, so I'll have to be more patient next time and let it cure - definitely looking forward to using them more for future models
