Sydney Dust Storm
Hey guys, thought i'd just share some images I took of the dust storm that is occuring over Sydney at the moment. It's quite scary to walk outside.
All photos taken with Lumix DMC-FX33

Here's a picture that's taken directly at the sun, as you can see.. there's alot of dust around so I wasn't getting full glare. Makes for a nice image though.

Here's a second image with the sun at the top off the photo, and just another view at the lovely choking dust.

Unfortunately though, I didn't feel like waking up early in the morning, where it was actually red!
I thought the world was going to end... But I just went back to sleep, now I kind of regret it. :(

What part of Sidney is this? I have a sister living in Manley.
It's all over Sydney and expected to last the entire day.
Photos were taken at 10am 100 which was about 45 minutes ago.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. What part of Sydney were these pictures taken. I saw on the news this morning that you could bearly make out the Opera house from across the bay next to the "Coat Hanger" . :)
oh 45 minutes ago... those photos show it's still pretty dusty...
Right now at this time, it's cleared quite a lot at my place.
Got so much house cleaning to do now, cuz we got dust all around the house.
Just wondering whereabouts do you live?
Oh heh, I made that post at 10:45.
Yea same here it's cleared up and the sun is shining through, although there is still alot of wind.
I live in Castle Hill.
Some of my friends that I talk to that live out there were just talking about that. Apparently it's heading to Brisbane now.
Yeah, it rolled in heavy here about 11-ish.
woah! I wouldn't want to go out in a dust storm o_o; if it could get in the house I could only imagine how much of it would get in our lungs if we went out in it :O
Found this thru a twitter O_O red dust storm pix :O

WHOA! That's really scary 0.o
Wow, those city images are really nice. Too bad I live in a suburban area so I couldn't get those amazing shots.
the bridge looks like an alien spaceship landing.
now we know how it looks if we make a habitat on Mars.
We're catching it up here in Brisbane as well... couldn't see from one side of the river to the other around lunchtime.
Sorry about that. Pretty much a friend of mine and I had gotten in a fight over who the best BLEACH character was (since I am trying to get back into the series). What lead to that was this conversation:
Me: "And here I thought I could go a little further... Trying to to beat your Bankai with just this."
My friend: "Watch your mouth, brat. You talk as if you've already achieve--..."
Me: "Yeah." "Don't believe me? Just watch" "Ban... KAI!!!"
And then that happened and we ran away. (^_^;;
It's like looking at a red vortex of doom!
i was at work in the city when it happened here in brisbane, i had to shut the shed door down because of the strong winds otherwise we would of been *dusted* out. haha.. it still managed to creep in a bit tho. i would of liked to see the red sky that sydney got but it didnt hit here till before lunch, but i took a photo of the sun which you could stare at without being blinded, it looked like the moon heh.. it didnt stop alot of people just going about their normal lives, i saw pictures of people swimming at southbank and such. it was just one of those wierd random days.
and of course there was so much dust and wind strength behind it they said its likely to reach new zealand and as far north as the tip of australia...
