The Sigh of Frauline Nagato Yuki

Posted by ryles [www]

Today, I unboxed one of my recent loots - Frauline Nagato Yuki.

The figure has so many issues, I don't know where to start. T.T

I've read the reviews, even the Japanese ones, but I didn't expect
it to be *this* bad. I mean, it's not zero quality control, it's *negative*
quality control (I wonder how that works... they put bugs?).

Suffice to say, The Data Overmind isn't happy.

In any case, I think Nagato would like to show them herself, while
I... interpret her thoughts.

And so with a sigh, Nagato-chan starts her lamentation.

"My face is so pale... paler than my arms and legs,
and the paintwork is thick and lacks finesse."

The Sigh of Frauline Nagato Yuki

"Speaking of paintwork, I've got chipped-off paint like the
ones in my arm..."

Mouseover = load notes.
The Sigh of Frauline Nagato Yuki

"My cape is *heavy* and thick, no poise at all. *Sigh*
I feel like the Java reincarnation of my sleek C/assembly
counterpart over at Figma.

"I'm tempted to use some Data Overmind magic to refactor
myself."

Mouseover = load notes.
The Sigh of Frauline Nagato Yuki

"The guitar is a saving grace... but how can I perform with my
legs colored like these?? The color of my upper leg doesn't match
my lower leg!

"It seems somebody botched up the API specifications."

Mouseover = load notes.
The Sigh of Frauline Nagato Yuki

「答えはいつも私の胸に…」
"The answer has always been in my heart..."
(Haruhi season 1 OP)

Mouseover = load notes.
The Sigh of Frauline Nagato Yuki

"Oh well, I guess I just have to make the best of my existence.
At least I can join Frauline Haruhi's band."

Mouseover = load notes.
The Sigh of Frauline Nagato Yuki

"How I envy her though. How can two figures from the same
product line be so different in quality?"

Mouseover = load notes.
The Sigh of Frauline Nagato Yuki

"Let's just have fun, shall we?"

    Yikes, that's harsh. Sorry to see that.
    Quality issues aside, her face looks sad :(

      Yeah... I wonder if the frown is a coincidence. Maybe they knew she'd be sad.

    Odd, I have the same figure, but she looks fine. I wonder if it was just a bad fig that got through CC? If I have any issues with the Revoltech Fraulein figures, it's the support stand. You can't use it with the cape.
    I cut down the one for my Mikuru so it grabs her around the waist. (looks better too)

      Really?!
      Hm... now I'm thinking if I should contact customer support.
      Though with poor jap, I think that will be very difficult.

      I agree with the stand! I was like:
      "Ok, now to put her on her stand..."
      "..."
      "hmm... OK..." :p

    Woah, sorry that you got such a crappy figure.
    I never really liked the Frauleins, I prefer figma.

    Didn't u guys have any problem with Fraulein's figure holder? I found the top which is holding the body easily gets expanded, resulting in loosely holding the figure and made it fall.

      For bunny Haruhi, I stuck it under her neck. And it eventually expanded that it couldn't support her when holding her back again. So I just keep it at the neck now. Asuka's is still doing fine. Though the joint in the stand is getting a bit looser..

    Oh man, I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience! I just got my Fraulein Yuki within the last month and she was gorgeous. The only problem I had with her was that the ribbon on her cape broke off the moment I touched it -- nothing a little glue couldn't fix, though, haha.

      It did occur to me that it might be fake (yeah, it's that bad),
      but I got it from Amazon.jp itself (not marketplace or seller),
      so I'm *assuming* they sell only authentic stuff.

    I feel your pain. I tend to get the figurines and such that have quality control issues. I even tried buying figurines in hopes that there are no quality issues... And found ones I either bought or almost bought had that. But the paint chip? I think I had at least one item I bought that was almost as bad... But not that bad.

    *sighs* I wish they would follow Megahouse's example when they did the Excellent Model Series line. Higher than normal price, at least back then in 2006, but is known for their top quality control.

      Actually, the paint chip is tolerable. The worst is the leg coloring.
      Makes her look like a Franken-figure. Lol! Serioiusly. :p

        I would have not tolerated any of it.

        But then again... I have been having a hard time getting a good Haruhi figurine, and that might be burning me out. @_@

    thats sad, so many problems, I have a yuki and I thought she wasn't the best Fraulein but she only has a scratch on her hair, and two of the same lower arms, so it can't bend properly.

    Sorry to see such a bad Revoltech figure. I already have the figma version of the Revoltech you have and I have found no issues with it. I am going to get about 3-4 Revoltechs and I hope that they aren't this bad. I am starting to have doubts that Yuki is an authentic Revoltech. Just too bad of quality in my opinion.

    Wow, this MUST be a bootleg. I'm a big fan of Revoltechs and I've never seen quality this bad. I'm sorry that you got your hands on such a shoddy product though. I've seen other Revoltech Yuki figures and they weren't anything like this at all.

    Was it just a bad batch? Is it authentic? Becuase if its real and not just limited to this, I will seriously reconsider getting this especially since figures in Canada can cost an arm and leg...

    Ugh, I feel for you. I have Mikuru and Haruhi in Fraulein version, but I never bothered getting Yuki (I didn't like her as much in the anime) I actually love the Fraulein dolls, and I wish they made more of the more mainstream characters (or just more girls. I want MORE.) and I prefer them to the figmas because I'm so scared of breaking the figmas, and with the Fraulein they're a lot less nerve wrecking to handle! I'm always playing with Mikuru at my desk XD But. This Yuki is horrible. I've seen her in her box before, she never looked this bad. Could it be possible that this is a knockoff/ I've never heard of anyone wanting to knock off the Fraulein series (another great reason I prefer them), but the quality on this Yuki is horrendous!
