A lacquer based paint is really your best option.. its really hard wearing.. but.. Tamiya puts all their paint line in rattle cans as well.. so if you must use a rattle can, I'd suggest Tamiya

No I don't have the exact number.. since I dno't use Rattle cans for my GK's at all.. but its a small white can with the Tamiya logo on it. Should be able to pick it up at local hobby stores.. if not.. you can order it from HLJ.

I have been using tamyia gloss black. So far quite happy with the results. I suggest you get the gloss black first so that you can decal first and then flat coat afterwards. Save on a layer of gloss coat ^^

I'm pretty sure that if you spray a flat coat as the last coat on something, it will end up flat, no matter what the earlier coats were (except maybe metallic, I have no idea how that would turn out!)

some decal, or most, will have "flashing effect" if the 1st paint wasn't gloss
flashing effect will left sense of decal was just being applied to the kit, not painted
so to evade flashing effect, either paint the kit using gloss color, or coat it with gloss coat 1st, and then apply the decal
after that, use either flat or gloss coat to seal both decal and paint
that is... something i have learn but haven't practiced on it yet...

You can still use your regular black paints, just paint gloss cote over the black paint. Tamiya gloss is good.
