GSC and Max Factory's generosity

An update from the Good Smile Company site about the disaster and their generosity.

We would once again like to offer our condolences to all who have been affected by this unfortunate disaster. Good Smile Company and Max Factory will be donating 10 million yen to the cause of helping out all those who are in need of salvation, as well as helping to recover the infrastructure of badly damaged areas. We also intend to release some charity products which will be sold to raise more money to be donated to relief efforts.

We truly hope that everyone involved will be able to recover from this unfortunate disaster as quickly as possible in the days to come.

If I'm correct that's $121,000 U.S. dollars, no?

Kudos to you GSC and Max Factory!

The Japanese Red Cross design can be found here and is also part of a donation organization.

I dunno, I just thought this was really nice of them and wanted to post. I hope my info is accurate. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Glad to hear that the loads of money we throw into our hobby ended up helping tsunami/earthquake relief in a way. The mention about the charity items sounds enticing; charity auction maybe?

      Hatsune Miku Nurse-Cosplay version.
Though I think we have enough Miku's, Saber's and Haruhi's as it is.

Definitely for the Haruhi and Saber but Miku doesn't have an anime or manga and she's almost sorta like GSC's mascot in a way.

but certainly more and more negative news surfaces as they survey the harder hit areas....
"Japanese police say another 1,000 bodies have been found in quake-hit coastal areas."
Yen to USD went up by .5 to 82.1, and Japanese stock market dropped by over 6% as Japan bank injects trillions of yens into money market.
I rarely make charitable donations, but this time, it's hard not to.

It's the first time I hear a figure company (2!) donate a huge amount of money.

I heard they estimated that it can reach 10,000 deaths. :(

Good work to GSC and maxfactory. Wouldn't be suprise if it reaches 10000 deaths since their population is quite large over there but it is quite depressing news

    I knew the amount of money I've spent on Figmas didn't go to waste. ^^;

That aside, I truly hope that Japan will recover as quickly as possible.
