Mirai Feed Widget
Hi everyone. Since I heard that Danny needs a widget I put myself in learning flash and actionscript 3 to make the widget, so one week for learn some basic and three other weeks for programming and “trial and error”. This was my first application in flash.
I send this 28th of July but with the "over nine thousand messages" in Danny's mail, look pretty difficult that him response. Also the launch of new site powered by Mirai Gaia and what seems lots of AJAX functions, looks like this widget will not very useful compared with them. So I share with you some aspects of the work(Sorry for my english). Some sad because no images of new Mirai-chan's imouto.
The news change automatically every 6 seconds.
Animations or images can be used in the character or the background.
The background changes every day randomly . The initial background is randomly too. This can be changed but needs access on a server.
A “latest new!” is displayed when the first new is showed.
Images can be loaded local or web.
Have some problems with IE -_-. This is why I put the pictures and animations in the same folder than the widget and not in separate folders, this is for IE doesn’t support the path like Firefox, Chrome or Opera(in this 3 works great but IE doesn’t work), so I have to put in the root.
Hector’s feed work good at first because his feed doesn’t have images.
For Danny I have to make a “HTML images tag cleaner”, this images HTML tags were removed, but some “Image ID#------” can’t be removed, so if you have a feed “copy” without images maybe work better, but actually now works great.
Mini Animations
Most of this are little movements, bouncing, inclination, breathing (included 11 animations). I made animations only for character but widget support this in the background. Animations were made in Adobe After Effects.

Here I think “well looks like the design is good” only remains some functions for automatization and the animations, background and page configuration. But I said to myself, this isn’t too big for a web page? XD
Looks this size is good, and the design looks better. Testing the background change with date.
In this part 11 days without internet thanks to my internet provider, the workflow slowed.
The previous clock are too big and removed space that Mirai needs for show us more moe, lets' do it more little. Add last functions.
Looks this be the final design.
For server flash player was boring with the securtiy policies, some research on web and at least find how to configure flas player 10 security -_-

cool. looks very good. how did you work around the sandbox limitation?
If you see, I star with a huge widget XD, later I understand that it was no very good for a web plataform. I think only in the most necesary items for the widget and use de blurb to contain most of them(rss feed and clock) because they initally were separated.

There are more animations, I tried to do some OPPAI physics simulation :3_ but the result wasn't very good Y_Y

Thanks, but the widget needs other files in the same path, so a only swf hosting don't work properly. What do you change in the area clock?

It's for web, but a desktop version maybe may be better, good idea.

Didn't Danny wanted the colour scheme to be selectable? Like, people can choose what colour scheme they wanted?
