Ecchi VS Moe

The picture is lame I know ^^; I posted a few more decent and random below to compensate but I think the idea is clear. Maybe you don't do it consciously but most collections should have a pattern that shows your taste, personally not too long ago got these more moe looking figures on the right for simple awesomeness but I can't deny my roots I've always been an ecchi guy and find the loli concept rather annoying, getting that Mercedes figure for instance doesn't make much sense but I couldn't resist those red eyes and again simple awesomeness but it's as loli as I'll ever get,
momohime didn't count as ecchi? There's this ecchi viewing angle for momohime that's a selling point (same for Gwendolyn)
that's because even my moe figures are ecchi ^^; I had to put something there....

Cant really see poll with kanata there but assume thats the ecchi option, but I believe you are confusing the words moe with loli.
From what I understand of moe its what you like the most so for you ecchi is moe... if that makes sense.
I had the idea that moe was associated with loli and cute? is it not?
Its kind of seems to be that way now as it is whats popular at the moment, the origin of the word moe has something to do with "desire" (or something along though lines cant fully remember), so saying something is moe is like you desire that object or whatever it may be. So for you, you enjoy or "desire" ecchi things so for you that would be moe while for an other it would be loli, nekomimi, imouto and so forth.
Well that's how I comprehend "Moe" I think its one of those words that might be losing/changing its meaning similar to how "otaku" has.
I guess it's kind of ambiguous I didn't really gave much though to this but it would make more sense something like sexy vs cute.

As black12 has already stated, that is the generally accpected definition of it as of now. Though, I remember reading an article in an anime/japanese pop culture magazine(I think it was Otaku USA) about moe. One interpretation was that it was the word used to describe the way you feel about a specific thing, so it's similar to what YzGuy9394 said. One example used was one of the people who contributed to the article said that they were "Moe about Fist of the North Star.". So it could be interpreted or translated to be "crazy about" something. But when I hear/see "moe" I generally think of characters like those from Kanokon, K-On and Lucky Star.

After googled and wiki-ed, I think some dude said MOE is pure feelings for a trait before feeling ecchi. Loli can be MOE but Lolicon isn't MOE. I wish I know what I'm talking about. My example, momohime front view = MOE, backview looking from a lower angle = Ecchi

That's a difficult choice, i want both, but, probably moe comes first.

I've noticed you and a few others mention liking knee pits before,but what exactly is so appealing to you about them? I'm not trying to be a jerk in anyway, I'm just curious. I like certain parts of the female body that some people might find odd or would just overlook, too.
If you like other parts that people overlook you should understand, you just enjoy that part, I like knee pits too but I wouldn't know how to explain why I like legs in general but specially that part and thighs :3
I really, really like legs, too. The whole lower body in general. Hips, legs, booty. Particularly the booty ^_^.

And no worries. Sounds like you're just curious, and I've had to answer this a few times, lol. But like Dann, it's really the legs as well. It's just that my eye tend to focus in that general direction XD

You should add a category for "sexy" (sexy doesn't necessarily mean ecchi, right?), one for "cool" and one for "beautiful" (can be beautiful without being ecchi or moe, right?)
Native Japanese speakers may have a different understanding of the word "ecchi", but my understanding is that it means "dirty" or "naughty". It can also describe a type or theme of anime or manga. Ikki Tousen, Queen's Blade, Seikon no Qwaser, Highschool of the Dead and Hyakka Ryoran are pretty good examples.

You have the same problem than me and that it's that your collection is full of curves, sexy, mature, ecchi, etc figures and almost nothing of kawaii style.
But you know, what most surprised me is that Mercedes cause, I almost add her to my collection! she's great, beautiful limitless, so congratulations for her, you deserve it.

Hmmmm.... All depends on the figure for me. I'm not sure I'd ever get an Ikki Tousen figure though, even if it was super cute haha. Cos they are usually super ecchi. Most of my figures are just cute/moe. I've got a few swimsuits/bikini's, like Tamaki, but her expression is so moe it balances out the ecchi of her GIANTS EYES LOL. But yeah, most figures do seem to be ecchi from certain angles anyways lol.
But I remember seeing a lot of mmmm... maybe not ecchi but at least sexy ladies in your collection, is good to see a girl collecting that kind of figures!
Spose I have quite a number of sexy ladies in my figure collection... Xecty, Haruka, Shirley, Yuki... Sana, Shana, Pec/Baek... but the majority seem to be schoolgirl figures hehe, lots of ToHeart hehe.
