Collection of Figmas Updated

Posted by haruhism1 [www]

Here's how my bookcase currently looks like. I plan on putting away most of my figmas in my closet to use my bookcase for other stuff while I clean out my room so here's my last picture before they start getting boxed up. My Haruhi ones will stay in my detolfs of course.

Wow, that's a nice collection of figmas you have there. I like how you've split them up into sections according to series. :)

Thanks, I know some people out there just randomly place their figures wherever but I like to group them according to their series.

I'm the opposite since nendos don't really appeal to me even though I have like 13 or so of them.

From a dealer who went to Wonderfest. It costs a bit more but I'm impatient.

That's an awesome collection you got there, nicely displayed too! you have pretty much all the figmas don't you? the only ones I can't see there are those sort of pets with sport uniforms as well as those of that naked guy that could never figure out what's that about.

There's some holes here and there like Shana and a few other swordswomen but until I find them for relatively cheap, they will have to wait. In the mean time, I've been picking up a few Queen Blade's revoltechs for fun.

Those scarfs were part of last year's Max Factory Winter Campaign where there were given out for free along with mittens. Basically MF gave them to specific vendors to give out during the month of February as a free gift for every figma purchased. They didn't do it again this year which saddens me but it was a bit tough to get all 5 colors since they were in blind packages.

Oh yes. I was too late to pre-order Imouto though :(
Hope I can still get it and not at 10x the original price or something.
        Did you pre-ordered yours?

I generally don't preorder and just wait until an item is released and then go out to buy it. That way I can keep a closer eye on what I'm spending each month.

Great collection! Let me give you some advise, one figma collector to another: get some di:stages. They'll definitely help you compress more figmas in a tight space. Also, I highly recommend you work on your posing, as most of your figmas are in a sort of vanilla style pose and all look the same just standing around. I'd take a snapshot of my desk for a comparison, but it's a mess right now. Maybe next week after I get my new computer set up and my desk cleaned up (and perhaps a quasi hutch set up) I'll do a post on how I set up my collection =)

I took a look at those di: stages already and they are nice enough but since each figma already comes with a stand, it's tough to go out and pay for more even if it saves me a bit of space since they are like $9-10 each at the local shop. Yea, I know my "posing" isn't great but I'm a vanilla type of guy so keeping it simple works best for me. Also I do have a bit of a fear or posing them too much will cause the joints to weaken and possibly break which happened once with a Kyon so unless I get an idea for a cool picture most of the time they all just stand around. Thanks for the tips though, if/when I get some stages then maybe I'll do some better poses for them.

Most figmas have a very well defined center of gravity, which makes it very easy to pose them without the stands. Heck, the only figma on my desk with a stand right now is Mikoto, and that's only because I have her riding one of my ex:ride bikes! I highly recommend experimentation with posing. If you're careful, you won't have to worry about joint breaks. I've only broken one joint in my history as a figma collector, and that was with Kyon very early on when I bent the figma joint the wrong way. As long as you're careful, there's no danger. The only figmas I've ever had problems with loose joints are the first Nagato Yuki and Chouyuusha Haruhi, which were some of the first developed figmas in the line, so it was understandable.

Actually my replacement Kyon is the only one I have with really smooth joints but he was second hand to begin with. Chouyuusha Haruhi and Yuki were pretty tight for me.

I own all the Haruhi Suzumiya figmas and K-ON! figmas. I also own all but one of the Lucky Star figmas, missing Konata cosplaying as Haruhi. My brother owns Miku and Drossel. I pre-ordered the Oreimo figmas. I really only display the Haruhi figmas in my SOS Brigade clubroom I made, everyone else is still in their boxes. Hearing how people broke their Kyon figma is scaring me, he is hard to find now for replacements.

Well, in general I haven't really had any problems with most of my figmas but the more expensive/rare ones I try to be extra careful with their joints. Makes me wonder why Kyon and Koizumi are so expensive compared to the rest of the Haruhi figmas in general minis witch Yuki. Is it a low production number for them or people not wanting to sell theirs. Wonfest Konata isn't too expensive since she pops up on Mandarake for like 2,500-3,500 yen.

Quite impressive collection, I myself have 90+ figmas (I think the only ones I lack are the Billy Herringtons ant he baseball figure, oh and Prince Shotoku and of course Mato, you lucky devil!), I just do not have the space to display them all.

Nice. I haven't really been actively trying to find the ones that I am missing since those ones tend to be quite expensive on the second hand market. For now I'm just waiting on until I see someone post up them for cheap here. If you ever decide to sell any that I don't happen to have, just leave me a message. =)
