Shizuoka and the Gundam Statue (Hobby Fair)
This is a trip that I took to Shizuoka to see the Gundam Statue before it was put away in storage. I heard the statue will stand until March 27th (Sunday) so I hurried there!
Arrived at Shizuoka Station!
I was looking very hard for a map of Shizuoka, but unfortunate the Night bus arrived there at 6am and everything inside the station was closed, save the ticket machines. I wanted to walk to the sea and when I was about to give up and just walk anyway I saw this map! took a photo of it for reference lol~
Didnt look too far from the station, but it was over 3km and the walk was no joke...

The very first onigiri I made myself! it was suppose to be a tuna onigiri, since thats all I had. It didnt look too good, but the taste was alright ^_^

This was at Shizuoka station waiting to go to Higashi-Shizuoka station where the Gundam statue was!!! snapped this cause I noticed her katana/umbrella~ its good to know somebody's proud of their hobbies :D

This was the Gundam museum? that was across the street from the fair grounds so I decided to visit, but apparently you need a reservation to get in, and the guard said it was only once a month??? lol, he thought I was Japanese American after I told him where I was from, but little did he realize.....
This is how all of my photos should've looked like. see the difference? I just realized my white balance was all screwed up. Thankfully I am discovering this before I go to Hiroshima...
Finally entering! I actually got there an hour early, the fair starts at 10. I got there at 8 thirty lol~ Now thats what I call dedication!

Gunpla! This is an exact model of the Gundam statue of Shizuoka! its over 37cm tall! I bought this and it will be my first gunpla~ :)

What a fun day it was!!!
Ever since I heard about the 1:1 scale gundam statue I always wanted to see it! And now I have. If any of you are in the area and wants to see it go NOW! It's till sunday 3/28 and then it will be put away for storage. I hope they erect it somewhere else, maybe Osaka this time! That thing would look awesome in Den Den Town :D
