Just a regular girl

Posted by aquilla [www]

Well since so many lovely girls already have introduced themselves, I thought I would too.

Age:22
Sex: Female
Blood type: A+

Hobbies/Interests: Asian style ball joint dolls and anime style dolls most importantly! Also anime figures, photography, my cats, playing World of Warcraft, the Sims, music (anything from rock to heavy metal, pop to anime music), cycling.

More about me:

In my spare time I most enjoy photography, thats why I made my blog. I've always taken pictures of my stuff, had a live journal years ago, but never got on with it, so the pictures just piled up with no where to go. But I still wanted to share my images and stories with the world instead of leaving them stuck in the folders on my pc. So eventually my blog was born.

My favourite subjects are my dolls and my anime figures, as you will notice by the content of my blog, however I also love to photograph landscapes, nature and animals/wildlife given the chance.

I currently do not own any high end or professional equipment, however I aim to obtain a digital SLR camera and some lenses when I am able, however for the mean time I am considering upgrading my Samsung D75 to a Lumix DMC LX3. I have previously been unemployed for about 14 months, but I have secured new employment, so I’m hoping to save and get my new camera soon! (it still says unemployed under my name, but theres no box to edit it anymore, buuruu)

I am overweight at the moment, but I have taken up a plan of eating healthier and getting exercise to lose weight. I've been cycling because I have bad Ankles, so jogging and walknig isn't a good option for me. I love my bike and really enjoy getting out there. Its going well, I've lost a stone in weight already, but theres still a way to go. So for the mean time, this little picture is all you'll get of this fatty.

Mouseover = load notes.

This by the way is my beloved bike. I love my bike so much.

    The trick to stay thin is... to eat. Basically if you eat properly and enough then you will not go "oh that candybar looks interesting". Just remember that eating nothing but carrots and similar will quickly make you hungry again. Get something healthy, but not "extremely healthy" as the stuff considered extremely healthy will fail to kill the will to eat wrong stuff.

    I finally get to see a picture of you and then the resolution is so poor that I can't make out the cat ears. I feel cheated :P

      I could never eat salads and veggies full time and crash diests are always so pointlessly extreme and unreliable.

      What I've done is ditched the pizzas (which I used to eat 3-4 times a week, YUK!), greasy chicken and packets of crisps that I used to eat, I've stopped drinking only fizzy drinks with a load of sugar and I've stopped SNACKING! I've also reduced my portion sizes because I was really eating too much, but snacking and pizza was really my biggest problem.

      It's working very well and I can still eat what I like when I like, I just do it in moderation now.

        Eating pizza or chicken is ok as long as it's decent quality. This usually means you have to make it yourself though. That way you can control what it contains. Pizza can be downright healthy and tasty if you make it correctly.

        Snacking is ok too if you eat the right stuff. Basically when you want a snack it's because your body wants to get something. You should eat to avoid your body from feeling a food shortage (which will make it stockpile) and this isn't what you want. You should consider what to eat instead. Get some proper food and you will eat you on your way to get thin ^^

      I don't like calling my dolls 'daughters'. To me they are more like pets, or best friends. Because of the way for my pets and my friends, I'd do anything to make them happy. I do this with my dolls too. When I buy a new dress, they just seem to radiate happiness.

      the weight I have keeps getting back tho

      This is a common issue. It takes a lot of energy to produce a fat depot in the body and once you lose weight you empty it, but it's still there and it's easy to fill again. It's kind of like storing something big. First you need to build a storehouse to have somewhere to place it. Once it's build you can empty it but it's easy to fill it with something else later on.

      This is why a 4 week diet will never work. You need to figure out how to live on a permanently basis while avoiding certain food (mainly fast food). You shouldn't torture yourself with a diet because then it's wasted since you will not do it on a permanent basis. Also if you do it on a permanent basis, then you torture yourself for the rest of your life, which is bad on it's own ^^

        Well, I'm not really on a crash diet, I just keep cutting down on the amount I eat because I used to eat a lot. I even eat more vegetables than meat. There was a time that I lost some weight and then it kinda came back after my brother's wedding ><;

        and, I never liked the idea of diets Dx

    I should say Good luck on dieting and exercising . I've been to that road before and it was not really tough . All I need to do is NOT drink Carbonated Drinks instead drink Fruit Juice or Milk . Do not eat Snacks and too much oily foods . Walking and Jogging Every weekend in the morning .

    Its good that your saving up your Gold to buy a LX3 but remember "There will always be newer and more advance Technologies , So patients is everything !!"

      If I buy a camera, I tend to stick with it until it physically will not work anymore. As long as it takes nice photos I am happy with, then it will last a long time, regardless of new technologies because I don't like replacing or upgrading if its not necessary. Something would have to be very significantly better for me to even consider replacing.

    Nice to put a face to a name. ^_^

    Always enjoy your posts and have referred to your blog many times for my Dollfie care needs. Also, love the doll photos on your site.

    Nice bike btw. Used to bike alot in California but in Texas there just isn't the facilities to use bikes anymore (drainage ditches instead of sidewalks). Really miss it.

      Here we lost the ditches and that's an issue when it rains a lot. It's kind of hard to explain your neighbour that his house is flooded because you included the ditch as your garden. Removing the ditches is illegal, yet it happened everywhere and now somebody figured out that the state should pay compensation if the state recreate the ditches. After all quite a lot has been included as farmland (for free, remember the land is actually stolen).

      I never understood why you should pay compensation to a thief for getting your estate back but somebody claims some weird legal mumbo jumbo and then everybody goes "that sounds like he knows what he is talking about" and then it ended up like that :/

    Girls have to introduce themselves? *shy* I think for me otacool was enough! hehe

    About the weight issue, after 25 the metabolism really slows down (at least for me it did O_o) and its all downhill from there if you stop exercising because too busy with work... then the pounds start adding slowly... the key is too never stop exercising regularly.... (I failed T_T)

    It would be cool if there was some kind of anime work out that's really motivating for otaku girls. Maybe getting into DDR again would help! Good luck with your biking, sadly it's a bit too cold here and there will be snow soon so bike is a no no hehe.

    Crash diets are not a good way to go. Went down that road for three years. *Shiver*
