Uematsu

So, I promised my musume that if she was good for the entire month of March with no attempts or plots of rebellion/revolution, I'd take her out for a treat. Since everybody's getting a bit of loots for their daughters, I decided to give something special to her. I took her to Distant Worlds concert in New York for Final Fantasy music.

Using some clever tricks, I managed to sneak us into the VIP section after the concert and not only did we get a signed edition of the DVD by Arnie Roth and Nobuo Uematsu, because we were the last to meet the pair, she even got a special button for Nobuo's new band "Earthband Papas."

All in all, she's convinced to be good, and I'll be listening to One Winged Angel on repeat for the next month or so.

When we both calmed down, I helped her put the "Earthbound Papas" button on her jacket. The sharp metal part on the back is actually really strong, and the little prick poked me a few times, it was hella annoying to get it on.

I find it funny how there were no guards at the meet and greet.

He had two bodyguards I think. It was really tough to get in though at first, the ushers were really scrutinizing the tickets and some groups had some special VIP pass necklace things, but they refused to allow them in since they didn't have the tickets. I don't know if it was sorted out in the end.

I wish they could have personalize the autographs. Too much effort for that to happen =/

It'd be nice, but I'm not complaining that much. Some people brought in their original Final Fantasy 7 playstation 1 disks to be signed.

A friend gave me his cover of the original FFVII to sign.

Nice. My friend told me an original FF7 is worth 300US online or something. I still have mine, but the box is pretty messed up.

Wow, that's so cool. Too bad I didn't know there's a concert like this in the city. Where exactly was it held and how much were the tickets?

It was held at BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). The price on tickets vary depending on the seating. VIP package was 175 USD. Those guys screwed up regarding my VIP ticket, as it never arrived to me by mail.

so you paid $175 for the vip ticket and you got something else? I just google the concert, I wish I knew it earlier :( ...at the end did you get to take a picture with them? and was those soundtracks included in the $175 deal?

The soundtracks are not included in the deal. One's 15 dollars, so 30 for both, and extra for the Returning Home DVD.

175$, that is pure win. Is there any new arrangement compared to the original Distant World 1 and 2 CDs?

I actually got in for free ;P I don't know if there are any new arrangements, I think they're the same, but they did a live performance of Opera and a sneak preview theme to the FF14 chocobo song.

Oh we were in the same show. It was mad cool in the end because I was waiting for them to do One Winged Angel.

What I didn't like though, was the clapping in the end of the show, because Terra's theme just became 2 minutes of clapping to walking sprite robots.
