Urd and World of Elegance from E2046
Since no respectable companies decided to make any nice Urd and World of Elegance figures (only this kit), we thought that perhaps we'd buy one already prepainted from The Gathering.
(the original kit is beautiful and my wife immediately was very excited about it, but alas, we cannot do any painting ourselves).
While from some distance this figure looks great, close inspection is disappointing, a lot of distinct seams, shoddy paint work at places and so on (comparing to VOLKS version of Belldandy and Holy Bell, the difference is quite disappointing). Also E2046 seems to be the only vendor from whom I am getting figures damaged in shipping. This is my third disappointment from E2046, so I guess no more purchases from them for us.
Kind of strange how there are a lot of wonderful Anime characters out there in all sorts of Anime, yet figures are made of pretty limited set, often over-fan-servicized girls, and in fact predominantly girls. Where are great figures of such excellent characters as Hisoka, Kilua, Gon (from Hunter x Hunter)? Where's Sai and Hikaru from Hikaru No Go? Where's Battle Programmer Shirase? Dio-sama from Last Exile?
("Where are great figures from Prince of Tennis" adds my wife).
Kind of sad, actually.

Link to full resolution image, since apparently figure.fm lost this feature recently.

I wonder how long the "cloth" on which it stands would last before falling apart.

It still looks amazing (at least from your photos) but Urd's face in the last picture made me sad :(
How much did it cost you?
Thanks. As I said, it looks mostly fine from some distance indeed ;)
We got it for $182.73 (which is in the low range for prepainted kits for E2406, due to preordering and some discounts I was eligible for).
I agree from the photo's it still looks pretty good.
But seems like there might be leaning/breaking issues in the near future? :(
I'd love to see figures from HxH and PoT as well, too bad they aren't any scales ones.
The figure industry still focuses a lot on female characters, which is a shame :/
Male characters from popular series have just as much potential to be made into a PVC imo.
Thanks.
I don't think resin (of which it is made) actually leans, it's pretty stiff. The breaking on the other hand is totally possible.
I agree about potential. In fact all male figures that we have seen to date (very few) that were any good are not available anywhere anymore.
You got some really nice effects with your lighting on that glossy background.
Really nice figure, something I would definately love to have. Must be difficult to get out of the box in one piece, never mind ship it >__<
Thanks! The background is supposed to be matte ;) (that's just my TV screen).
They actually ship it in several pieces, though that did not prevent 2 other parts to break out.
Wow! Both looks gorgeous!
WOW its amazing I am so jealous, it's really hard to get Ah My Goddess figures, and this one is stunning!!!!
This one is not hard to get, you might have similar one from here, they still accept orders http://www.e2046.com/product.php?products_id=6477
Unfortunately no major producers do anything like that and we are forced to buy a kit of questionable legality :( (see discussion in http://www.figure.fm/post/en/1081/CC+from+Code+Geass.html )
I love it!!
Its a sad fact that your more likely to see 20 more Kanu or Tama-nee figures before you'll ever see any of the characters you listed...*sigh*
Nice looking statue though...very dynamic.
Hopefully we have ears (eyes) of GSC, Alter and others here at figure.fm now (and if not yet, perhaps Danny will help?) and they would take a hint that in current world of look-alike sexy girls figures those who would differentiate themselves with something else might potentially win big again (might be not such of a concern to established brands though, but for some new player?). (supposedly the demand is here too even despite tough economic times).
I hope metamorphoses of Black Rock Shooter of GSC do not highlight their idea of figure design evolution (we still have original one on preorder yet the date is pushed again and again yet new "sexier" designs are introduced)
The sculpt at least isn't bad at all, but one thing is driving me nuts: why is there only feather texture on one wing!? Seriously, you should do all of both or nothing on either not. . . whatever this is. Just weird. Differences in color I can swallow as a design choice, but texture differences for me are inexplicable and inexcusable.
Well, the original cast from Hiromen also had no feather structure on white wing.
Moreso, even in the manga the white wing has no feathers. I guess that might have something to do with it being too bright for the structure to be recognizable.
