April Loot
Yay! More loot ^_^.
This is the first time I've received an order that arrived in pretty bad shape. I've received orders with a few minor dents, but one of the boxes in this order was pretty bad. There was a pretty bad tear on the side, one on the top and it even had a shoe imprint on the top. I guess someone doesn't know what the word "fragile" means... I didn't expect it to arrive in pristine condition, considering I ordered it direct from Square-Enix and it was shipped from their warehouse in Hong Kong, but I was still irritated.
So I decided to open each figure and inspect them to make sure they weren't broken (I usually just stack them up and store them still in their boxes, since I don't have much room anymore). All of the figures' boxes were fine. Though, after moving Rukia around a bit, her ankle joint snapped and when taking Toshiro out of the box, his foot came off immediately. I don't think that's to blame on the shipping as the box these two arrived in was in decent condition. Also I searched online and more than a few other people have had problems with these figures, even another member here. The quality over all on the figures is ok, just not the best I have seen from the Play Arts line. I think Rukia and Toshiro probably would've been better off with standard ball joints for their ankles. Ichigo has an identical type ankle joint, he's just bigger, so its more sturdy than Rukia and Toshiro's. I suppose I could see about getting a replacement from Square-Enix, but according to their FAQ page, I would have to send the figures to California and they would assess the damage/defect and then see about sending me a replacement. I don't feel like being bothered with that enough, so I'll just use some super glue. Sorry about the wall of text, but I just wanted to let anyone else that might be interested in the Bleach Play Arts Kai line that Rukia and Toshiro are pretty fragile.

Hey Syzich nice action figure loot! I'm sorry to hear about your Rukia and Toshiro I also think it's better to try and fix them I'd be too troublesome to send them back.
Didn't know you like Play Arts, did you know they're releasing Street Fighter's? I'm really excited about it, it seems it's only Ryu and Chun Li initially but hopefully they'll release many more I want particularly a Mr Bison one, I thought they'd release many from Bleach as well but there are only those three right? I'm still hoping for a Kenpachi one ^^
Yea, I'm aware of the Street Fighter Play Arts coming out. I saw pictures of some unpainted prototypes not too long ago. I was considering getting the Chun Li from Neca, but I wasn't really that happy with the way she turned out, so I'll get the Play Arts version instead. And as to your question about the Bleach figures, yea, it's just these three, at least for now. I still think it's kind of odd that they included Toshiro. I mean, if they're only releasing three figures initially, I would think they would have included Renji over Toshiro.
Forgot to mention it before, but I've included Play Arts figures in a couple of loot posts before. I have like 55+ Play Arts figures.
yeah those Neca figures are horrible, revoltech's are better but not that great either and hard to find I believe, there are just a few decent SF's figures out there that's why I'm so excited about it, still we got to wait to see how the final product is going to look like, I don't know about the pose-able feature but at least Play Arts tend to look better than the majority of action figures, so you have that many? nice I only got 4 from Final Fantasy, actually Tifa was my very first figure and what got me into the figure collecting. Oh and it's weird about Toshiro even Byakuya is more popular, that's maybe why I thought if they're releasing him maybe I could hope for a Kenpachi one ^^
I don't think all the Neca Street Fighter figures are bad, just Chun Li. I have Ryu, Ken and Crimson Viper. C. Viper's sculpt could've been a little better overall, but she's much better than the Chun Li figure.
mostly the girls look like too fat the guys are ok.
Ouch! I had the same ankle problem with Rukia when I got her back in November. Luckily, the place I bought her from just reimbursed my payment and I got to keep the broken Rukia since they ran out. so I decided to buy another Rukia somewhere else, so I have 2 :D
As for Ichigo he's pretty sturdy. My only problem is I can't switch his heads around, his normal face won't come off.
Yea, I was gonna try and switch Ichigo's head to his Hollow mask version, but when I got his head off I noticed that the part that essentially serves as his neck was still attached to the body. I thought it was supposed to be that way, but I saw the the Hollow mask head had that neck joint, too. I didn't want to try and take it out because I thought it might break. So, Ichigo won't be getting Hollowfied...
Nice loot!
Not too long ago I decided to get Ichigo and Toushiro (not Rukia because I was short on money).
A couple days after taking them out of the box for display, I decided to change Ichigo's pose, and when I barely touched his arm joint, it snapped clean off.
I also have the Bayonetta one and she's not very good imo. Her legs are extremely loose and she didn't even come with a stand!!!! wtf. Also, her guns can come off easily after a while
of posing...blegh.
I'm probably not going to get Play Arts Kai's anymore because of this...for $50.00 Square Enix could have done a much better job on them. Heck, you can even buy around 2 figmas for 1 Play Arts Kai! And imo Figma>>>Play Arts.
IIRC, I read about others having problems with Ichigo's arm joint as well. Overall, the quality of the Bleach Play Arts figures aren't up to snuff compared to other entries in the series. I would think that given they both came out in almost the same time period, they would be just as good as the Halo: Reach Play Arts line, which in my opinion is excellent, especially Kat(she's probably my favorite along with Emile). Aside from Ichigo's arm joint though, I think most of the Bleach line's fault is due to small joints. Other Play Arts figures have conisderably bigger, more sturdy joints. Or just a different type of joint altogether. The Halo: Reach figures seem to have ball joints at the ankle. Speaking of fragile ankle joints, now that I think about it Bayonetta and Jeanne have pretty thing, fragile looking joints. I think I might take them out of the box and check them out at some point.
This looks so cool.
