Anime Expo Contests!

Anime Expo 2011 is going to be an awesome Year! We already Know Danny will be coming back so obviously we're all going to go already! But did you know that AX is having some awesome contests this year for the fans? It is the 20th year of Anime Expo "The Year of the Fan!"

Anime Music Video contest!

Art Show Contest

This one might interest our budding artists! But there isn't much time left to enter! The deadline is May 1st!! Anime Expo has been around for 20 years! As part of the
celebration we are holding an art contest officially titled, “20
years of Anime Expo!” Your challenge is to take one or more of the
AX characters and draw them in some fashion associated with 20 years
of AX and the SPJA. The only ‘characters’ allowed to be drawn in the
contest are the official mascots of the SPJA and AX. Appearance of
characters not owned by right of the SPJA will be rejected.

-Entry

All images submitted via the internet must be printable on an 8.5 x
11 format, between 72 and 300 dpi. All entries submitted by mail
must come pre-framed or your entry may be rejected.

-Requirements

* Participants must be US residents at the time the art is submitted for judging
* The art contest runs from April 1st through May 1st any submissions after May 1st will be rejected.
* If there is intent to sell artwork through the Art Show, a valid W-9 form must be provided – participant must be 15 years or older to sell their submission at the Art Show.
* Participating artists must read, agree, comply, and sign the Anime Expo® 2011 Art Contest Contract. The contract will be provided along with other documents necessary for the Art Contest.
* All minors must have parental signature permission to participate in the Art Contest.

-Prizes
* Honorable Mentions will be given a free display place in the Art Show.
* 3rd Place will receive a trophy, a set of graphite pencils, card stock paper, two 4-day passes to the convention and all items mentioned in the Honorable Mentions. Passes to the convention can be postponed up to three years.
* 2nd Place will receive professional art pens and markers along with all items in the 3rd place category.
* 1st prize will receive a prize package from Copic Marker. If 15 years or older they will also receive a free Artist Alley table along with all items in the 2nd place category. If under 15 years of age they will receive four 4-day passes to the convention in lieu of two along with all the items in the 2nd place category.
* Grand Prize will have their image printed on the 2011 volunteer t-shirt and will be given a t-shirt to keep, they will also have their image printed in the 2011 AX program. Neither items are available for purchase. Further information outlined in the contract. Plus all items in the 1st place category.
