new additions to my articulated-figure family

some of these are a little older than others, but i don't believe i've shown them over the site yet. so let's not waste any time!

KOS-MOS arrived literally about 30 minutes ago and she is quite the bomb-shell. originally she was to be shipped in February, but was delayed until late-April. she was ordered off of AmiAmi.

beautiful she is, but my "model" came in with a couple stains on her left leg [not pictured]. they're not incredibly awful stains, but they're still sort of noticeable. she is a little difficult to have her stand without her base - i like my figures to stand on their own most of the time - but with a little bit of work she's well-worth the effort and money.

her arsenal of gadgets is also a huge plus.

this adorable little piece of sugar and sweets needs no introduction.

Miku was purchased at the San Diego Mitsuwa store. it was just like Frances of AX Live and How a Girl Figures said - "if you're going to get a Miku figure, get THIS ONE." i cant say those were her exact words, but im sure she'd agree with this anyhow Xb

friends know that im a big big fan of One Piece. so, naturally, i have started collecting the S.H. Figuarts of them.

to be honest though, i did not buy these. my cousins won these but felt that they deserved an owner who really loves the series they come from. this is something i and many of you would believe - to fully enjoy a figure is to know who they are and love them. i love One Piece, so i love these three.

next to "join" this crew will be Sanji, who will be released soon, i think.

and finally, Lightning and Snake. these two were, admittedly, impulse buys during Anime Conji 2011.

i didnt know what the quality was for PlayArts figures, but at the very least, they look great. they're pretty big too - bigger than my other ones definitely. Snake's right hand is actually pretty loose and Lightning's left arm was difficult to rotate from the shoulder until i took a risk to force it. it worked and its fine now. i was originally going to just buy Snake, but felt he'd look weird being the only "giant" in my room. so i paired him up with Lightning, my favorite of FFXIII.

oh and Tails was purchased way way way way long ago. like...when the Dreamcast was still new.

I would imagine stands are good for balance, especially in our Earthquake prone state

absolutely, its just that my shelf space is somewhat limited at the moment. the figma bases just sort of take up more space, imo. but at the same time, using the base would prevent the figures becoming valuable dominoes.

i'll probably set them up with their bases when i get home from class.
