Nendoroid Display Options?
Greetings people of figure.fm. I come with an issue. I got lots of nendos, and even more puchis. I got the puchi situation almost under control, but the issue is the nendos. I dust regularly, but I need suggestions on display and protection so I don't have to dust as often. A detolf would be nice, but Ikea does not ship to Hawaii (without jumping through some loops first). I'd like suggestions on cases, the ones holding my puchis are a bit crowded, and were $20 a pop. Any suggestions with using my existing shelves?

The rest of my shelf and workspace. I'd prefer not to place figures on there since I do work on there, and it shakes quite a bit when im playing fighting games.

thats a very nice puchi collection .. well i cant suggest any because i just put em on top of my screen monitors .. infact im looking for the case like urs but didnt found any that size . i only can find the small one or only 2 level .
I didn't intend to collect them at first, but one thing led to another. I thought I was gonna be collecting scales, but Nendos are my calling. The ones down there I bought locally at a shop, but I can't find anywhere online that sells em
Is it your bookshelf? You can try to get something invisible cover (I dunno how it calls), it is like the window part you can see from the nendoroid box which you can use it to cover your whole bookshelf, so, that you can see your figures w/o getting dust attack your figures. Hope it gives you an idea to protect your collection :)
Hmm, that doesn't sound like a bad idea. However, I need to be able to quickly access them. I do change the poses and faces periodically, and I do take one or two with me sometimes.
Do you guys have DAISO in HI? They're a Japanese chain where everything's $1.50 and have a bunch of US stores, and they have small display cases similar to the ones your puchis are in, but more suited for full-size Nendos, and only $1.50 a piece. They have a website where you can order stuff in bulk, I'm trying to find them on there, and I'll comment again if I do. The online ordering is kind of new and not that much of their stock is available yet, though.
Only japanese chain stores we have in Hawaii are Don Quijote, Book Off, and Coco Ichibanya. Don Quijote had a promising case, but it was a little too short for the nendoroids ;_;. Is that product you mentioned only sold at Daiso?
I've seen very similar cases at other places. I think the one from Daiso is only available there, though. Most Daiso products are actually made for Daiso. I had no idea you guys had Donki there, I've only ever been to them inside Japan.
I need more shelves...
I find CD shelving is just the right height for Nendos, but that won't solve the problem of covering them.
maybe you can buy those big roll of clear plastic used for wrapping book. cut a size big enough to cover the display area, then add velcro to few corners and edges. Like this you have clear plastic cover to protect against dust but with the option of opening the velcro anytime.
I've seen people use sheets of gladwrap, but it looks tacky.
If intending on keeping the same shelving then perhaps tracking down who could supply a clear sheet of pvc cut to size and then install it with a few hinges from the top to keep it in place.
As for reducing dust you can then buy some weather shielding tape to do up the sides with like http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/caulks-sealants/42200.htm. The foam comes in various thicknesses.
I'll be using it to dust proof my Detolf's once I finally get them.
Have you checked out City Mill yet?
Simple solution. Goto Hardware store, buy 4 hinges, 2 magnetic door stops, 2 knobs, and 2 pieces of Plexiglas. Put clear doors on the shelving unit.
I have considered this route of course, but preferably I don't want to drill into the shelf. Im really looking along the lines of those cases in the bottom, just at a more reasonable price.
your shelf is nice enough. if customization permits. i think a lock-hinge glass/hard-plastic door that opens upwards is okay.
I must point out, your katana is round the wrong way ><
ohnoes!
