Nendos, Trains and Tracks

Posted by kodomut [www]

As comrade Alafista have already posted his Nendoroid Travelogue pictures, here are my set of different pictures on our little adventure on a hot hot hot Saturday!

Mouseover = load notes.
Nendos, Trains and Tracks

One of the most interesting things in which I observed is that the greenery around the tracks are virtually untouched. As such, very lush greenery, tall grass and wild flowers were a common sight.

Flowers attract Kagami like poo attracts flies.

Zetsubo awaits for his train.

Twigs and branches make little Rin happy.

Besides the greenery around the tracks, the artifacts around the place were equally as intriguing!

A rusted nut and bolt intrigues Kagami.

Rin is being a little rascal by taking Pastel's yummy lolipop.

And my favourite picture of the day.

Hope you enjoyed this few pictures. There are more over at the original post, especially of Rin abusing everyone!

    Love the Nendoroid crossing. Would have been cool (and dangerous) if you had the train coming towards them, hehe.

    Looks like there is a trend with taking pictures of figures on train tracks. I would strongly recommend against it as it's illegal and way too dangerous. (the pictures are nice though)

    The picture with the train is interesting. The guy on the engine is delivering the token, which means the token system is still in use. It's an ancient signal system.

    The idea is that the tracks are split into blocks (one block goes from a station to the next). Once a train needs to enter a block it is given the token and it gives the token to the next station. The idea is that a train can only travel in a block if it has the token and there is only one token for one block. Quite simple yet it does the job, which is to ensure that trains will not hit each other. The token is the round thing he has in his hand. It's shaped like that because it makes it possible to pick it up while the train is moving, hence allowing non-stop trains in token systems.

    The locomotive though.... ugh. If that happened here, then it would have been thrown into the repair shop right away and they would likely keep it for a while. I suspect leaky pistons, which means it burns lubeoil (pollutes quite a lot). Even worse soot and diesel goes into the lubeoil and slowly kills the lubing effect. I highly recommend against using any engine, which burns lubeoil and it can be easily spotted by the look (and smell!) of the black exhaust. Soot on top of the pistons and in valves will also decrease fuel efficiency.

    Very cute pics but the train track pics kind of scared me. Especially the one with the train coming.
